Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has said that there will be no scars of last season's 4-0 Premier League defeat at Selhurst Park when the Red Devils visit Crystal Palace in the league on Saturday (September 21).

The Red Devils received a hiding on their last visit to Palace in May this year, thanks to a Michael Olise brace and strikes from Jean-Philippe Mateta and Tyrick Mitchell.

Fast forward four months, Ten Hag's side have had an underwhelming start to their league campaign, winning two of their four games, losing twice. However, the Red Devils are riding a two-game winning streak across competitions.

Having won 3-0 at Southampton in the league last weekend, United thumped Barnsley 7-0 at home in their EFL Cup opener in midweek. Ten Hag has said that despite their heavy defeat on their last visit to Palace, he expects a different outcome this time with more players available.

"It was a 4-0, totally deserved, but Saturday will be different," the Dutchman said (as per Simon Stone of BBC Sport). "I don’t compare (situations). From February onwards, we had to find 11 players to construct a team. Now it is 18, and we can pick one."

Following that aforementioned hiding at Palace, United slumped to a 1-0 home loss to Arsenal before finishing the season on a three-game winning streak across competitions.

After beating Newcastle United 3-2 at home and emerging 2-0 winners at Brighton & Hove Albion on the last day of the Premier League season, United upset holders Manchester City 2-1 to win the FA Cup.

Ahead of his team's Premier League trip to Crystal Palace this weekend, Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has a positive update about the injured duo of Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund.

Both players sustained hamstring injuries earlier this season, with Hojlund out since pre-season while Mount hasn't featured this month. Ten Hag said about the duo (as per MEN):

"It's very good news they are back in the pitch. They are back in team training, we have to decide whether they are fit enough to start (on Saturday), but it is very pleasing they are fit and back in the squad."

Mount has played thrice this season for the Red Devils, starting twice, with his side 10th in the standings after four outings in the Premier League.
