Barcelona defeated Almeria on Thursday (2-0) and made a crucial step towards securing the second place in the La Liga standings. Despite the victory, the Blaugrana's fans were disappointed with Robert Lewandowski's performance and called him out on social media.

Fans were displeased with the way the Pole striker played and didn't mince their words, urging Xavi to bench him for the last two games of the season.

"No striker is worse than Lewandowski at the moment. He is so nauseating to watch and to think he will lead the line next season and Xavi's loyalty to him kills the spirit. Jx like many have done, we will switch to watching City until probably Xavi is out and if possible Laporta"
"Such a horrendous performance from Lewandowski and xavi somehow still manages not to give any minute to vitor roque is baffling to me"
"I told y'all Fermin is doing better than Lewandowski a frickin midfielder is more consistent in scoring than our main striker. Lewandowski has no good positioning fam. Fermin is short and yet he's getting in spots to score headers man"
"We fit play for 6 days straight make lewandowski no still see goal score...I never see this kind striker before," a user wrote on X.
"Lewandowski is AWFUL," another one posted.
"Lewandowski doesn't know what to do with a ball," a third user wrote.

Robert Lewandowski's agent says his client will stay with Barcelona next season

Robert Lewandowski's agent, Pini Zahavi, shut down any speculation about his client's future with Barcelona. Zahavi made it clear that the Pole will stay with the Catalans for at least one more year.

"That is nonsense. Lewandowski will stay in Barcelona one hundred percent. He wants to play another year in Catalonia," Zahavi told Polish media a few days ago, via China.org.

Robert Lewandowski is under contract with the Blaugrana until the summer of 2026. Still, the Spanish giants haven't ruled out the possibility of sending him elsewhere and pursuing other top-class strikers. Still, with Xavi being fond of the veteran's goalscoring skills, it is not likely he will leave this summer.

Lewandowski has been one of the top Barcelona players this season. He has played 47 games across all competitions, scoring 24 goals and dishing nine assists. In La Liga, he has made 33 appearances, scoring 17 goals.
