Former Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard reckons current custodian Andre Onana needs to learn to deal with the pressure that comes with playing for the Red Devils.

Having arrived from Inter Milan last summer, Onana has been the undisputed No. 1 for manager Erik ten Hag. However, the Cameroon international has struggled this campaign - coinciding with United's struggles - three losses in four games across competitions.

Despite winning the FA Cup last season, Onana is far from convincing fans about his quality. Meanwhile, Lindegaard - who was with the Red Devils between 2010 and 2015 - has some advice for Onana to deal with the pressure of manning the sticks, especially at Old Trafford:

“Onana has come back from a difficult start, and now he is doing a lot better, Lindegaard said (as per The Sun via GOAL).
"But there's no magic formula to overcome that pressure. That is the job. The job is to handle that pressure. If you can't do it, or you won't do it, the job is not for you.”

Onana, 28, has kept 14 clean sheets in 55 games across competitions for United, including one in five outings this season. The Red Devils have lost their last two league games, though, conceding five times.

Manchester United have had a difficult start to the new campaign. They started the season in the FA Community Shield against Manchester City. Despite taking a late lead through Alejandro Garnacho, the Red Devils conceded and equaliser seven minutes later as penalties ensued.

In the shootout, Erik ten Hag's side led 2-0 and then 3-1, but misses from Jadon Sancho and Jonny Evnas meant that City ran out 7-6 winners to avoid becoming only the second side to lose four straight Community Shields in as many years.

The Red Devils returned to winning ways in their Premier League opener, beating Fulham 1-0 at home. New signing Joshua Zirkzee came off the bench to drill home a late winner.

In their next outing, though, Erik ten Hag's side fell 2-1 at Brighton & Hove Albion conceding a 95th-minute winner after Amad Diallo had levelled proceedings for the visitors at the hour mark.

Next up, the Red Devils slumped to a heavy 3-0 defeat to arch-rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford. Mohamed Salah was the star of the show for Arne Slot's side, bagging a goal and two assists.

The Red Devils next take on Southampton away in the league on September 14.
