On-loan Chelsea forward Joao Felix has revealed that he's loved his time at the club so far while also expressing his desire to stay on.

The Portuguese forward joined the Blues on a six-month loan from Atletico Madrid in January this year following a breakdown in relations with manager Diego Simeone. He has scored only three goals in 14 appearances in the Premier League. However, Felix revealed that he has loved the last few months of his time with Chelsea.

While speaking to The Secret Scout about his future, he said:

“I don’t know yet on my future, but these four/five months I love it. I would really like to be here."

Given his fallout with Simeone, it's not surprising to see that Felix wants to remain in west London. He extended his contract with Atletico until 2027 before joining Chelsea, but Atletico's CEO Miguel Angel Gil Marin had confirmed their intentions of selling him.

He was quoted as saying (via Desporto Ao Minuto):

"Félix is the biggest bet the club has ever made. I think he's a high-performance player, one of the best in the world, but, for reasons that it's not worth naming now, the relationship between him and the coach is not good, nor is his motivation. I would love for it to continue, but that is not the player's intention."

It all came to a head in October last year. Felix warmed up thrice during Atletico's UEFA Champions League game against Club Brugge only for Simeone to ultimately leave him on the bench. According to 90Min, he instructed his agent Jorge Mendes to look for a new club.

Now at Chelsea, he seems to have found a new lease of life despite all their struggles.

Meanwhile, the Blues, despite spending over £500 million outlay, are languishing in the 12th position of the Premier League standings. They have 43 points from 36 games and are confirmed to miss out on European football for next season.

Chelsea to begin a new chapter with Mauricio Pochettino

Chelsea are set to appoint Mauricio Pochettino as their next permanent manager and there's plenty of promise surrounding his impending arrival. The Argentine transformed Tottenham Hotspur during his five-and-a-half-year stint there, guiding them to a few cup finals, including that of the Champions League in 2019.

He also boasted a stunning 65.48 win percentage at PSG. Yet, his shortcomings in Europe ultimately curtailed his time in the French capital as the Parisians went out in the Round of 16 in both seasons under him.

At Chelsea, he will have another huge rebuilding task as the club is currently going through a crisis. To say their performances has been abject would be an understatement.

The Blues have won only 11 times in 36 league games while scoring just 36 goals. Their record of 15 defeats is also the joint-most in a single Premier League campaign.
