Fans on social media have called out Rico Lewis following Manchester City's 3-3 draw against Feyenoord in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday (November 26). Lewis' defensive performance was a subject of criticism as Feyenoord scored three second-half goals and secured a draw against City.

Erling Haaland opened the scoring through a penalty in the 44th minute. This gave the Cityzens the lead going into halftime. Ilkay Gundogan doubled their lead in the 50th minute. The 2-0 scoreline gave Manchester City stability as they pushed for a third. Three minutes after the second goal (53’), Haaland made it 3-0 following a decent assist from Matheus Nunes.

In the 75th minute, Anis Moussa gave Feyenoord a lifeline by scoring their first goal. Seven minutes later (82’), Santiago Gimenez scored a brilliant goal, making the scoreline 3-2. This gave the Eredivisie side the momentum to push for an equalizer. Eventually, David Hancko found the back of the net in the 89th minute, making the final scoreline 3-3.

Several fans on X expressed their disappointment in Lewis' performance, who maintained a 90% passing accuracy (78/87) but couldn't create a chance and didn't win a single tackle. One fan wrote:

"Rico Lewis is a liability btw. What does he offer apart from 100 short passes?"
"Also whilst we are at it, what does Rico Lewis actually do?,” a fan added.
"Ever since that bum Rico Lewis became a starter, things have gone downhill,” another fan added.
"Rico Lewis is a genuinely awful player,” a fan opined.
"I’m really not a fan of Rico Lewis. Gets run over so easily. He reminds me of Riqui Puig a lot,” another fan opined.

One netizen felt sorry for Lewis, writing:

"I actually feel sorry for Rico Lewis now. He is miles off it, what Pep is doing to him is completely unfair by exposing him this much.”

Lewis has provided four assists in 19 games this season while Manchester City have now registered eight points from five UCL games and are 15th in the standings.

Manchester City are interested in signing Ederson from Atalanta BC, as per Calciomercato (Transfer News Live).

This season, Rodri's injury (cruciate ligament tear) has affected City as the defensive side of the midfield has struggled to remain consistent. In a bid to remedy the situation, City are looking to sign Ederson in the upcoming transfer market.

In 18 appearances this season, Ederson has netted two goals and registered one assist. As regards versatility, the Brazilian features primarily as a central midfielder. He could also feature as a defensive and attacking midfielder when needed.

His versatility could stand to be beneficial for City if he's signed. Ederson is contracted at Atalanta till June 2027, meaning he might not be a cheap option in the market.
