Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Oliver Skipp has made his prediction for the marquee India-Pakistan clash in the 2023 cricket World Cup in Ahmedabad on Saturday (October 14).

Skipp, 23, has made 88 appearances for Spurs across competitions, scoring once and providing two assists. This season, the Englishman has made six appearances for the surprise Premier League leaders, starting twice.

Meanwhile, in Ahmedabad, India and Pakistan are gearing up for their eighth clash in the ODI World Cup. The hosts have won all seven previous clashes since their first meeting in the 1992 edition.

Skipp reckons that run could continue as he said in a video posted by Premier League India:

"I will go with India in India. You never know with Pakistan when they get to these competitions every time. Yeah, I will go with India."

Interestingly, both India and Pakistan have won their opening two group games in the 2023 edition. While the hosts beat Australia and Afghanistan, Pakistan saw off the Netherlands and Sri Lanka to set the stage for a blockbuster clash.

Meanwhile, Skipps' Spurs are not in action this weekend due to the ongoing international break. England rode an Ollie Watkins 57th-minute winner to see off Australia in a friendly on Friday (October 13). They next take on Italy in a UEFA Euro 2024 qualifier on Tuesday (October 17).

Tottenham Hotspur have made a surprisingly good start to their 2023-24 campaign. Despite their record goalscorer Harry Kane leaving to Bayern Munich in the summer, Ange Postecoglou's side have lost only once in nine games across competitions.

That lone loss came on penalties in the EFL Cup against Fulham. Spurs are flying in the Premier League, going top of the standings after eight games, with 20 points, ahead of second-placed Arsenal on goal difference.

Postecoglou's side have won six of their eight league games, with the two draws coming on the road: Brentford (2-2) and Arsenal (2-2). Spurs have won their three league games at home, with the last one coming against Liverpool (2-1) last month.

Tottenham return to league action after the international break against Fulham at home on October 23.
