No problems: Branislav Ivanovic and Luis Suarez resolve conflict

Liverpool v Chelsea - Barclays Premier League

Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic has confirmed that he and Luis Suarez have made peace over the biting incident that led to a 10-match ban for Suarez.

Ivanovic came face-to-face on the pitch with Suarez last Sunday for the first time since April when the Liverpool forward sunk his teeth into the Chelsea defender’s arm.

No action was taken on the pitch but retrospective action from the Football Association meant Suarez missed the remaining games of the season as well as the start of this season.

However, Ivanovic insists everything is now back to normal between the pair, telling Serbian newspaper Blic: “Much has been written about when I was bitten by him.

“Now we have met, greeted, but we all solved (everything) immediately after the previous match.

“Back then he called me by phone almost immediately. So after this match he asked me about my injury, so we really are normal.”

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho backed up Ivanovic’s thoughts before the two teams locked horns over the festive period, saying: “This was a big thing, but Iva thinks it’s something from the past.

“Everyone moves on – he’s moved on.”

Suarez has certainly moved on, scoring 20 goals in his 15 Premier League games this season, helping his side up to fourth in the table.
