Oscar: Medical complete and a step closer!

The transfer of Oscar to Chelsea for around £25m took a step closer yesterday as the Brazilian flew into London as part of the Brazilian Olympic football team.

It’s being reported that he was taken straight from Heathrow to a medical that had been arranged by Chelsea locally and has passed with flying colours.

If further reports are to be believed, Oscar is now due to take part in the Olympics and then sign for Chelsea afterwards.

RDM was asked yesterday about the signing of Oscar and said:

“I can tell you that he’s not a Chelsea player so it’s difficult for me to talk about a player that doesn’t belong to us. I know there has been speculation we are interested in this player and in due course if there is anything to announce we will do. All I would say is that he is a very young talented midfield player.”

Now we have “reports” of a medical taking place, we can more or less take it as definite that we are about to sign him.

I have said it before and will say it again, Roman and Chelsea have really surprised me this summer with the business they are doing.

It really is exciting times at Chelsea!
