Oscar says there's a chance Guus Hiddink could stay as Chelsea boss

Oscar says the Chelsea camp is much happier ever since Guus Hiddink took over

Chelsea's Oscar believes that after all what he's done with the club, Guus Hiddink might very well stay on as manager even after the end of the season. The Dutchman took over the club after Jose Mourinho was sacked and has lost only 1 of the 13 matches he's been in charge of – in the hands of Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

Hiddink was come on to right the ship after Mourinho's second third season caused a lot of unrest amongst the fans and certain section of the fans but Oscar feels that Hiddink was swiftly swept aside all the doubt and has retaken the dressing room giving the players more freedom.

“Based on how well Guus has been doing so far he could very well stay," says Oscar,

“We’ve been playing very well as a team. Confidence is up and the whole club is happy at the moment. Since he’s a popular figure, there’s a good chance he’ll stay."

Hiddink's compatriot and current Galatasaray midfielder, Wesley Sneijder, recently said the 69-year-old reminds him of a 'friendly uncle' and Oscar agrees.

“That’s a good description," Oscar said.

"He’s a very nice guy, very smiley and always looking to create a positive and happy environment.

“He has a very positive influence here and we’ve been playing well. We’ve had a lot of draws in that time but overall, in the Premier League, things have been going a lot better and it has given a huge boost of confidence to all the players.

“And also for me on a personal level because I’m playing much better.

“He said all the things we wanted to hear as players which was to get back to winning ways and playing much better football like we were doing so last season.

“So that was the main thing - getting back to the level we know that we can perform at.”

Chelsea now take on Manchester City in the 5th round of the FA Cup with Guus Hiddink looking to keep his unbeaten domestic record intact.
