Paris-Saint Germain want to sign either Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo in 2016
Owner Of Paris-Saint Germain, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, hopes to sign one of La Liga's superstars Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer of 2016, according to Sport.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is currently in his final year of his contract and the French champions want to sign either Messi or Ronaldo to fill the gap left by the prolific Swede.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has helped PSG win the Ligue 1 title after nineteen years. During his three years at the club he has won three Ligue 1, two Coupe de la Ligue, and one Coupe de France winners medal.
Le Parisien journalist Severac Dominique had the following to say: "I'm not inventing anything if I say PSG will again try to sign Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo next season.
"Ibrahimovich has to be replaced on the pitch."
Messi and Ronaldo are currently considered the two best players in the world, but it is nearly impossible for any European team to sign the players as their fees would be too high to come withing financial fair play regulations.
Both Messi and Ronaldo are the heart of their respective team, and PSG will have to shell out a huge sum of money to obtain their signature. PSG though have a better chance in signing Ronaldo as Al-Khelaifi has a good relationship with Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes and the Portuguese will also have the opportunity to play with his former team-mate, Angel Di Maria.
Di Maria left Old Trafford for the Parc des Princes for a fee of £46-million after spending only one year at the club.
Plan B Neymar or Sergio Aguero
In case the Parisians are unable to sign Messi or Ronaldo, they intend to target Sergio Aguero or Neymar.
Aguero currently plays for Manchester City and was the recipient of the Premier League golden boot last season. Aguero would have the opportunity to play with his countrymen Javier Pastore, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Angel Di Maria if the move does go through.
Neymar, on the other hand, would cost more than Aguero as he is a very young player with a lot of potential. The captain of the Brazilian football team could tee up with his compatriots Thiago Silva, David Luiz, Marquinhos, Lucas, and Maxwell.
Both the players would be good buys for PSG as they have youth on their side and can continue to play for several years to come.
