Barcelona coach Luis Enrique has revealed that Pedro’s future at the club would be decided soon and that the transfer saga would end, according to AS. The Barca forward has been linked with a move to Manchester United all summer as they look to replace Angel Di Maria who moved to Paris Saint-Germain last week. Pedro himself had refused to deny any links with the Premier League club.

The 28-year-old forward has a reported release clause of £21.2m and Barcelona may not be able to stop him from leaving the club should the Red Devils trigger the release clause. With the trio of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar understandably starting all games and the preferred first choice strike force at the Camp Nou, Pedro is finding it hard to get games under his belt as he looks to consolidate a spot in the Spain squad ahead of Euro 2016.

Pedro’s future will be resolved soon: Luis Enrique

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Barcelona’s match against Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup in Tbilisi, Georgia, Enrique admitted, “Pedro's future will be resolved shortly because there is not long to go until the transfer market closes.

"I have never decided to pick a player or leave him out because of the transfer window. I would like to keep all my players through the whole season.

“But we have talked enough about Pedro. The solution will arrive soon," he concluded.

Barcelona will be looking to hold on to Pedro a little longer after it was confirmed that Neymar would be sidelined for two weeks after contracting mumps. The Brazilian forward was omitted from the Super Cup squad and Pedro would be his natural replacement up front. Neymar could also miss the two legs of the Spanish Super Cup against Club Athletic Bilbao.

Pedro should not join Manchester United: Barcelona legend Hristo Stoichkov

Meanwhile, Barcelona legend Hristo Stoichkov has come out and said that the Spanish forward should not leave the Camp Nou to join Louis van Gaal’s side. He was very critical of Van Gaal’s methodology and even suggested that he would destroy the club.

"I would never be under the orders of Van Gaal," Stoichkov said, according to Sky Sports.

"He's mediocre. He destroyed Barca and is destroying Manchester United.”

He also spoke about how Van Gaal had treated goalkeeper Victor Valdes and that hopefully Pedro would learn from that. The Dutch boss was very critical of the Spanish goalkeeper’s attitude and apparent unwillingness to play for the reserve team.

"With what he (Van Gaal) has done to goalkeeper [Victor] Valdes he has shown he is a bad person. Hopefully, Pedro listens to me and doesn't leave,” Stoichkov said.
