Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has once again indicated towards a future with Real Madrid but remains dedicated to current club Borussia Dortmund for the foreseeable future.

In an interview with Soccer Laduma, the Gabon international spoke about rumours about his transfer to Real Madrid and emphasised that a move to Real Madrid would make his grandfather pleased.

Aubameyang is under contract at Signal Iduna Park until 2020, while the former AC Milan remains happy at the Bundesliga outfit. “I have devoted myself to Dortmund and I like scoring goals for this club,” said the Gabon international.

"Yes (I still want to play for Real Madrid), it's a promise I made to my grandfather," he said.

Aubameyang in superb form this year

Aubameyang offered a glimpse of what Real Madrid fans could be in for in the future. He scored a goal and assisted another in the 2-2 Champions League draw on Wednesday at Santiago Bernabeu. The former Saint-Etienne striker was at his best as Dortmund came from 2-0 down to earn a point and top spot in Group F on matchday six.

The striker has been with Dortmund since 2013, establishing himself as one of Europe's prolific strikers in the past few years. The speedster has already bagged 15 goals in 13 Bundesliga fixtures this season and scored 25 times during the 2015/16 campaign.

The Gabon striker has also scored 4 goals in the Champions League this season, which takes his tally to 19 goals this season.

Dortmund has lost a number of star players to clubs over the years, especially Robert Lewandowski and Mario Gotze, although the latter returned to the Signal Iduna Park this season. In recent years, Mats Hummels penned a five-year contract with Bayern while Ilkay Gundogan swapped Dortmund for Manchester City.

Aubameyang is likely to move out of Dortmund in the near future, despite the fact that he and Marco Reus have so far refused to abandon Dortmund. He hasn't made a secret of his wish to play for Real Madrid, and if Los Blancos like the striker as much as he likes them, the move ought to happen at some point in the future.
