Video: Watch Pique mock Ronaldo's 'calma' celebration in Barcelona's La Liga victory bus parade

Pique Ronaldo calma Barcelona La Liga bus parade
Gerard Pique has never lost an opportunity to mock Real Madrid and their players

Gerard Pique has mocked Real Madrid yet again by imitating Cristiano Ronaldo’s infamous ‘calma, calma’ celebration in Barcelona’s La Liga victory bus parade. The Spanish defender has never missed a chance to mock Los Blancos and with Pique regularly teasing the Madrid giants on Twitter, and repeated his antics in the bus parade in Barcelona’s streets.

Barcelona wrapped up their La Liga title on the final day of the season with a 3-0 win over Granada but had to delay their celebratory bus parade due to the Spanish F1 Grand Prix and the Nou Camp hosting a Bruce Springsteen concert. However, it afforded Pique the time to announce that he intended to celebrate to the fullest atop Barcelona’s bus.

The centre-back fulfilled his promise towards the end of the parade, appearing on the top deck and throwing confetti, waving the Liga trophy around while encouraging the crowd to make more noise. However, perhaps the best moment of the parade was captured in video, with Pique doing his best imitation of Ronaldo's infamous 'calma, calma' celebration unprompted.

Pique's funny gesture predictably had Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez cracking up.

Pique has a history of mocking Real Madrid

Gerard Pique has never been shy of making fun of Real Madrid, especially when Los Blancos have a spell of misfortune. However, this latest attempt to poke fun at Real Madrid seems a bit incongruent, given that the Spaniard was teammates with Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United and have generally been respectful of each other.

The Barcelona centre-back earlier expressed his admiration for Real Madrid’s end to the season, saying “If they are in the Champions League final it's because they've done a great job. They've racked up 12 consecutive wins in the league - that's an incredible run.”

Twitter has been the platform for the Spaniard to mock Real Madrid previously, with his antics drawing a response from Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa, that resulted in a spat that drew much criticism.

However, it seems that Pique is in a conciliatory mood, given Arbeloa’s retirement, saying “At times, the ribbing was too much and we should have toned things down - we shouldn't have done it. He's has a great career and won major trophies - the World Cup in particular, so wherever he goes next, I wish him all the best.”
