Alvaro Arbeloa: A Brief Biography

Álvaro Arbeloa Coca is a Spanish World Cup winning football player who currently plays for Real Madrid and the Spanish national team as a right back and central defender.As a teenager, Álvaro signed on with Real Madrid from where he moved to the youth team and represented Madrid club Castilla, a Spanish football team from 2003 to 2006. Thereafter he joined with Deportivo La Coruña on July 24th, 2006 and moved to English Premier League club Liverpool on January 31st, 2007 where he made his full debut against Barcelona and represented Liverpool in 2007 UEFA Champions League Final. On 29 July 2009, it was announced that Real Madrid and Liverpool had reached an agreement on the transfer of Arbeloa to the Spanish club. A fee of £5 million had been agreed between the clubs. Arbeloa signed a five-year contract after completing the deal. On 1 February 2008, he was called up to the full Spanish national teamwas selected to play for Spain at UEFA Euro 2008, the FIFA Confederations Cup 2009 and was also part of the winning FIFA 2010 World Cup squad.
