Manchester City v Huddersfield Town - Premier League

#1 Ederson - 7/10

The Manchester City Goalkeeper had a pretty quiet day in the office except for the Stankovic goal which he could do nothing about. He played a major role in City's opening goal where his long downfield ball found Aguero in an acre of space which he calmly buried in the back of the net.

#2 John Stones - 6/10

Stones was at fault for Huddersfield only goal where he failed to move in time to stop his man Stankovic from scoring.

#3 Vincent Kompany - 7/10

Kompany was solid throughout the match and never looked out of position. His interceptions and leadership skills craftily managed the City defence.

#4 Laporte - 7/10

It's always a challenge for any new defender to come into the Premier league and adjust immediately. But Aymeric Laporte, after his transfer to City last season looked solid from the outset. He played in the left of a three-man defence which suits him more and looked quite confident with or without the ball.

#5 Bernardo Silva - 7 / 10

Along with David Silva, Bernardo put in a stellar performance in the midfield. He was always looking for that killer forward pass and kept on finding the little pocket of spaces. Guardiola will be hoping he keeps on performing like this which will be crucial for City going forward this season.

#6 Fernandinho - 7/10

While the attacking responsibilities are more on the shoulders of the likes of David Silva and Bernardo Silva, the burden to stop any counter-attack from the opposition are on the shoulders of Fernandinho.

He is highly regarded by Pep and more often than not he puts up a decent performance in the heart of the City midfield. His overall game was quite noteworthy today with some key passes finding either Bernardo Silva or Benjamin Mendy in the flanks.

#7 Ikay Gundogan - 7/10

Along with Fernandinho he broke any sort of counter attacks from the opposition and made some crucial interventions and also looked a threat whenever City marauded forward with pace.

#8 Benjamin Mendy - 8/10

Mendy was a nuisance for the Huddersfield defence with his repeated forward runs from the left wing. He got his reward for all his efforts with an assist for Aguero's hat trick goal.

#9 Gabriel Jesus - 7/10

After coming off from the bench against Arsenal, he was willing to show his worth in the team and keep challenging for a position in the starting line up which he did when he doubled City's lead with a low driven shot from the edge of the box.

#10 David Silva - 9 / 10

City's best player on the field today by the country mile with his precise passing and movements, he was an absolute delight to watch.

# 11 Sergio Aguero - 9/10

After missing the chance to open his goalscoring account against Arsenal he was desperate to score in front of his home crowd and what a way to open your goal tally for the season. A hat-trick in front of the blue army and a celebration to look after.

Aguero is pivotal to City's title defence this season and Guardiola would want his top striker to stay fit till the end of the season.

#12 Leroy Sane, Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden - 6/10

With few minutes left in the clock and the game is already done and dusted, there was hardly any time for them to make any substantial impact. However Leroy Sane and Riyad Mahrez had some decent chances of their own which they failed to convert to a goal.
