Manchester United's predicted line-up vs Bristol City

Manchester United v Burnley - Premier League
There might be a few surprise inclusions on Wednesday

Manchester United will look to continue their defence of the Carabao Cup title when they face Bristol City in the Quarter-finals. The Red Devils have procured successive wins against AFC Bournemouth and West Bromwich Albion in the English Premier League (EPL) after their defeat against Manchester City at Old Trafford in Manchester Derby.

Jose Mourinho is likely to make comprehensive changes due to the congested festive schedule.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Line-up:

Sergio Romero is likely to start ahead of David De Gea in goal for United at Ashton Gate, having played in the previous two League Cup games. Antonio Valencia is nursing his hamstring and is likely to be rested for the tie. Matteo Darmian is likely to replace the Ecuador International at right-back with Luke Shaw occupying the left-back place.

Similarly, there will be certain changes in the centre-back department, with Marcos Rojo and Victor Lindelof featuring in place of Phil Jones and Chris Smalling, who are likely to drop to the bench.

Scot McTominay had a wonderful outing in the midfield against the Cherries (AFC Bournemouth) last week and might return to the starting line-up. Alongside him, Paul Pogba will make return to the team after serving 3 match suspension for an unintentional but rash challenge on Hector Bellerin.

Marcus Rashford will be drafted automatically in to the playing XI for the Bristol game, and the Englishman will most likely to play on the right side of the attack with Jesse Lingard being deployed in his newfound number 10 role. Anthony Martial will most likely replace Juan Mata on the left flank of the attack.

Romelu Lukaku has regained his scoring touch with 3 goals in four matches across all competitions. But, he could be rested for the midweek game giving Zlatan Ibrahimovic his first start of the season.

Player who can make his debut :

Tosin Kehinde was promoted to train with the senior side last week. It will be interesting to see if the Manchester United academy product makes his senior debut against Bristol City.
