Premier League is one of the most popular competitions in the world. Many of the league’s big teams do not hesitate to pay a colossal amount for a player who they deem worthy. It is no secret that the league is a dream destination for players because of the fame and money it can offer. However, not all who come live up to expectations. Now we will take a look at three of these Premier League’s new boys who have been unimpressive for their respective clubs so far.

#1 Jorginho (€57 million)

Many dubbed Jorginho as the next Andrea Pirlo because of his stellar season at Napoli. Following his move to Chelsea, he was supposed to be a core player for Maurizio Sarri in implementing 'Sarri-ball'. Unfortunately, he has turned out to be one of Chelsea’s core problems.

The Brazilian midfielder has only scored one goal (from a penalty) and has no assists for the Blues. When Sarri assigned him to fill N’golo Kante’s defensive role, Jorginho failed to give the much-needed protection in midfield.

The 27-year-old continues to struggle for Chelsea as they lost to Manchester City in the League Cup final. He could not contribute much to his team, created no key chances and only completed 80 percent of his passes. He even missed his penalty-kick against City.

#2 Fred (€59.4 million)

Last season, Fred was a key man for Shakhtar Donetsk because of his solid performances in midfield. He was also the only notable transfer for Manchester United in the summer transfer window. Despite being the only new high-profile addition for United, the Brazilian has failed to cement a starting place on the squad so far.

The 25-year-old was given enough chances at the start of the season by Jose Mourinho. Unfortunately, he gradually fell out of favour under the manager after a series of below-par performances. When United faced Liverpool in their most recent game, Fred could not even start ahead of Scott McTominay and was one of the unused subs under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

#3 Naby Keita (€60 million)

Naby Keita was such a revelation for many when he played for RB Leipzig. A sharp, agile player who co give pinpoint passes to his teammates, the Guinean was touted by many to become one of the best midfielders in Europe. With that complete skill-set, no wonder that Liverpool finally bought him as their most valuable midfielder.

The 24-year-old did impress for his team at the beginning of the season. Despite his bright start, Keita is now enduring a mixed season for the Reds. He often goes in and out from the starting 11 and has been deployed in several positions by Jurgen Klopp.

He became an unused substitute in Liverpool's most recent match against United, while regularly starts in several previous games. Overall, he is yet to live up to his huge price-tag because of this inconsistency and an abysmal goal/assists contributions for his team.
