The Englishman had been among the contenders throughout the season, only to miss out in recent months due to a knee injury picked up at the end of January. Wilson was out of action for almost 2 months and only returned to action in the middle of March. Wilson started the month with a disappointing 3-1 defeat at the hands of Burnley at home, a game where he failed to score. Wilson failed to score in the 1-0 defeat to Fulham at home, but last weekend, he scored a brace against Southampton and helped his side earn a 3-3 draw.
