Premier League 2018-19: Predicting the results of all the games from gameweek 8

Manchester City v Liverpool - Premier League

#8 Fulham (17) vs Arsenal (5)

A London derby, this one should be quite interesting.

The Cottagers have been playing decently, but the results haven't really reflected the same. They could have led in their previous game against Everton (when Sessegnon hit the crossbar) and possibly won the game, only to fall behind and self-destruct.

The Gunners, on the other hand, have been on a winning streak, the only PL team to have won their last 5 games in a row.

They travelled to Azerbaijan during mid week though, and that could have had its toll on the players, plus this is a home game for the Cottagers, so this could well end up as a scoring draw!

Prediction: 2-2

#9 Southampton (16) vs Chelsea (3)

Chelsea haven't lost yet this season, while Southampton have only won once in the league so far, but this should not be considered a cakewalk for the Blues.

Southampton had a brilliant result in midweek against Everton (in the EFL - they won on penalties), but that would also have taken a lot out of their players.

Chelsea for their part played in the Europa League on Thursday, but most of the key players were rested for that game, so it should have no impact on the Sunday game.

The Saints have not won at home yet, and Chelsea have not lost (home or away), so this should be a continuation of the same, ending in a win for the away team!

Prediction: 1-3

#10 Liverpool (2) vs Manchester City (1)

Manchester City v Liverpool - UEFA Champions League Quarter Final Second Leg
Manchester City v Liverpool - UEFA Champions League Quarter Final Second Leg

"The game of this weekend", "Top of the table clash", "Klopp vs Guardiola", you could name this one as you wish, but the fact is that this one is a mammoth game.

Neither of the teams have clicked into top gear yet (which should be worrying for the remaining League), but that should only make the game more interesting.

Klopp seems to have the better of the head to head with Guardiola, but again, that should not play on Pep's mind this weekend.

The famed Liverpool attack, especially Salah has not been able to continue his hot scoring streak from last season (can we blame that on a certain Senor Ramos?), while City have looked slightly "iffy" on occasions.

This one should be a humdinger, and the result should still keep these two teams matched on points (basically, a draw).

Prediction: 2-2
