Since his loan spell at Derby County, Mason Mount has made giant strides in professional football. Frank Lampard, a goalscoring central midfielder during his playing days, has helped the 20-year-old develop a propensity to make late runs inside the opposition's box.

In the starting few matches, Mount has flourished in Lampard's 4-2-3-1 system, often occupying the number ten role behind the striker. But, the 20-year-old faced a new challenge while playing as a left-forward in a 3-4-3 formation.

Despite playing in a different position, the youngster constantly pressed Jesus Vallejo during Wolves' build-up phase and maintained a defensive cover for ever-marauding full-back Marcos Alonso.

Displaying tenacity in his game, the midfielder retained position amid a heavy pressure inside the Wanderers' box. In a bid to win the possession back, Conor Coady deflected the ball towards Tammy Abraham, who finished the chance to hand Chelsea their second goal of the game.

With his darting runs in the left channel, Mount was a constant threat for Vallejo and Jonny Otto. The 20-year-old's industrious performance was rewarded with a goal in the stoppage time when the home side committed themselves forward to at least salvage a draw from the game.

Mount's calm finish was a leaf out of his manager's playing days for Chelsea.
