Just a few years ago, Paulo Dybala had the world at his feet having played a starring role in guiding Juventus to a domestic double as well as the final of the Champions League.

It was expected that the Argentine international would progress into becoming one of the very best players in the world, but that has largely not happened and two years on, the 25-year-old finds himself surplus to requirements in Turin.

Earlier in the summer, Dybala's move to Manchester United had seemed a certainty as part of a swap deal that would see Romelu Lukaku go the other way, but the deal broke down over reported differences in wage demands.

Dybala has almost no hope of a future at Juventus, but an unlikely escape route could manifest in the form of a move to Tottenham.

Reports by Sky Sports reveal that both parties have agreed a deal worth £64.4m, with differences over player image rights being the only snag.

The former Palermo man's girlfriend Oriano Sabartini is also reportedly keen on living in the English capital to further boost her modeling career, and this could help sway Dybala's head in the direction of Spurs.

Tottenham is however on the verge of completing another deal for Giovani lo Celso from Real Betis for £55m, and it is yet to be known if they could still pull off the Dybala coup.
