Alex Iwobi has rejected a move to Lazio after agreeing a 5-year-deal with Arsenal report The Sun. The report reveals that the Nigerian star will be getting an improved deal worth £70,000 a week.

Iwobi has been in talks with the Gunners over a new deal since the start of 2018. The midfielder's chances of getting the improved contract looked slim after Wenger was replaced by Emery but the new manager is said to be impressed with his qualities and has decided to keep him.

Another player who has been in talks over a new deal is David Ospina. The goalkeeper was keen on remaining at the club but Turkish Football reports that he is on his way to Besiktas. The arrival of Leno made Ospina the third choice at the club and the Gunners do not want to keep a player on such high wages as a backup option.

Manchester City are close to sealing a deal with Real Madrid for Mateo Kovacic according to the infamous Don Balon. The Spanish publication reports that the Croatian is keen on leaving Bernabeu and has attracted interest from Guardiola.

The Sky Blues manager was keen on signing Jorginho but the Italian went to Chelsea after Maurizio Sarri joined them. Guardiola is desperately looking for a backup for Fernandinho and has reportedly got City to agree a €90 million deal with Madrid for Kovacic.
