Premier League: One player likely to leave from each of the big 6

Southampton v Manchester City - Premier League
Vincent Kompany will lift the Premier League trophy for the third time in his career

The summer transfer window in England will commence on May 17th and close on August 9th. Whereas in France, Spain, Germany and Italy the window will open on June 1 and close on August 31. There are going to be many players moving from club to club and it will be a busy window with a lot of activity.

The Premier League big six will be part of the transfer activity in the window to bolster their squads in preparation for next season. While they will be interested in purchasing new players in different positions, the managers will have to let some players go.

Here we look at the player likeliest to leave from each of the Premier League big six.

#6 Arsenal - Lucas Perez

Perez has been unhappy at the club and will seek a move
Perez has been unhappy at the club and will seek a move

Spanish striker and Arsenal forward Lucas Perez is currently on loan to Deportivo La Coruna after failing to break into the Gunners first team last season. A likely candidate to leave the club permanently at the end of the campaign, Perez has been disappointed with the lack of chances in the starting eleven at Arsenal to prove his worth.

With the additions of Alexander Lacazette and Piere-Emerick Aubameyang to the attacking ranks at Arsenal, the chances of Perez's return to the Gunners first team is low.

Whether Perez could be coaxed into staying at the club for an extended period as a bench player seems highly unlikely, as the Spaniard wants consistent playing time which is not a guarantee at the club. With Danny Welbeck also in the running for places, Arsenal looks formidable on paper in the attacking department for next season.

#5 Chelsea - David Luiz

Southampton v Chelsea - Premier League
Luiz's second stint at Chelsea could be coming to an end

Chelsea's Brazilian central defender, David Luiz, is currently nursing himself back to fitness from a knee injury. The Premier League winner has endured a tough season with restricted playing time due to poor form and niggling injuries. Luiz was considered to be on his way out in January although he is likely to leave at the end of the season.

In his second stint at Chelsea, the player and the club this season has struggled to live up to last season's form and impressive displays. The defender could have also dented his hopes of making the national team squad for Brazil but remains an outside hopeful to make the team.

David Luiz is a smart, quick, robust defender who can also pass the ball with effortless ease. A versatile player who can also play a holding role in midfield there will be many suitors for the player. Conte's relationship with the player will determine the player's future at Chelsea.

#4 Tottenham Hotspur - Vincent Janssen

Liverpool v Tottenham Hotspur - EFL Cup Fourth Round
Janssen has struggled to find his form at Spurs

Vincent Janssen is currently on loan to Fenerbahce from Spurs until the end of the season. The Dutchman had struggled to make an impact in the Premier League and has also found it hard in the Turkish Super Lig netting just 2 goals in 11 appearances. A move away from Spurs looks likely as the player will not get adequate game-time at the club.

Janssen is a good strong striker who needs some time to settle into the new environment and can deliver the goods. There will be a number of clubs looking to land to services of the quality striker who possesses a potent goalscoring threat once he's in his zone.

Janssen is unlikely to break into the current Spurs team with Harry Kane as the lead striker, with Llorente as a backup option while Son and Dele Alli can also play the striker role. The Dutchman might be better suited to leaving Spurs for adequate game-time and a return to consistent goalscoring form.

#3 Liverpool - Daniel Sturridge

Liverpool v Sevilla - UEFA Europa League Final
Liverpool striker Sturridge could leave the club at the end of the season

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is currently on loan to WBA, where he hoped to impress national team manager Gareth Southgate and dig the Baggies out of the relegation places. While the club languishes at the bottom of the table, Sturridge's time at the club has been hit with injury ruling the striker out until the end of April.

A technical player with superb quick feet and goal-scoring ability, Sturridge is deadly on his day and is a threat to any defender with his pace and trickery. The Englishman faces stiff competition for places in the national team and as for his club future might be on his way out of Liverpool at the end of the season.

With Mane, Firmino and Salah the front three for the manager at the club, Sturridge's unlikely to break into the starting eleven. It will be interesting to see where Sturridge decides to go as there will be a host of clubs looking to land the services of the player.

#2 Manchester United - Marouane Fellaini

Manchester United v Sevilla FC - UEFA Champions League Round of 16: Second Leg
Manchester United midfielder will not be content with a bench role

Manchester United's Belgian midfielder, Marouane Fellaini remains a divisive figure among the club faithful. Known for his excellent ball retention ability, positional awareness and aerial threat, the Belgian is used as a squad player at the club by the manager.

The 30-year-old is not content with a bench role and is eager for consistent playing time and looks set to leave Old Trafford in the summer for free. Much to the displeasure of manager Jose Mourinho who is hellbent on retaining the services of the player he fully well knows will not be given adequate playing time.

With his contract running out in the summer, the club might be forced to sell the player on a free transfer. However, Mourinho is keen to hold onto the player as he can be impact player for the club in the future while remaining a squad player.

The Belgian has a number of suitors looking to acquire his services in the summer and will land a good club even if he departs from Old Trafford. However, the issue surrounding the player hangs in the balance as Jose Mourinho could coax the player into extending his stay at the club.

#1 Manchester City - Yaya Toure

Manchester City FC v PFC CSKA Moskva - UEFA Champions League
Manchester City legend Toure will leave the club this summer

Despite not making regular appearances in this season's title victory, Yaya Toure status as a Manchester City legend is secure. The Ivorian midfielder signed for City in 2010 and has gone on to make over 200 appearances for the club.

Winning three Premier League titles, a League Cup and an FA Cup, Toure was an instrumental and influential factor in guiding City to their recent successes.

City's former captain is out of contract with the club in June 2018 and looks set to depart the club after an eight-year stay. In order to get more playing time as he begins the latter part of his illustrious career, Toure will be looking for new employers.

The MLS and the CSL are two exciting options for the Ivorian as he has not hinted at retirement just yet and the 34-year-old will most likely depart the club this summer.
