Finally the transfer deadline is done with, hopefully clubs got the players they were looking to sign, the focus now shifts back to the weekend rigours of Premier League Football. I am no Shebby Singh or Steve Mahon or any other footballing expert. But as a student of the game, I will try and predict the final score line for Barclays Premier League Gameweek 3:
The big game, this weekend. Both the clubs have failed to do any kind of transfer day deadline deals. Fans of both the clubs are still not sure, how the season will pan out for them. Liverpool will be looking for their first 3 points of the season, but so will Arsenal. This one is tough to predict, but I will take a gamble on this one and go with Arsenal.
Final Score: Liverpool 1-2 Arsenal
West Ham vs Fulham
Looks like Andy Carroll will be in the starting line up for West Ham against Fulham. Hammers will be eyeing a comeback after the poor show last weekend against Swansea. Same can be said about Fulham, they will be looking to bounce back after a close encounter with Manchester United last weekend. I feel this game has a draw written all over it.
Final score: West Ham 1-1 Fulham
Swansea vs Sunderland
Swansea are off to a flying start in the Premier League. 8 goals and 2 clean sheets in 2 league games. However, they will find it difficult against an improved Sunderland side with two very good signings Steven Fletcher and Adam Johnson. Swansea will again be looking at Nathan Dyer and Michu to score goals. I am sure there will be goals in this game.
Final Score: Swansea 2-2 Sunderland
Tottenham vs Norwich
Spurs have made a number of deadline day signings. Looks like the first 3 points for Spurs of this season will be against Norwich City at White Hart Lane. If AVB, does not get a win in this game, I am sure a a lot of tongues will start wagging.
Final Score: Tottenham 3-1 Norwich City
West Brom vs Everton
Both teams have started the season well, Everton with 6 points from two games, their best start to a campaign for years and West Brom have faced two difficult opponents in Liverpool and Spurs, and are yet to lose in the league. It promises to be a very exciting game, with both teams giving their all. Fancy David Moyes to get 3 points in this closely fought encounter.
Final Score: West Brom 1-2 Everton.
Wigan vs Stoke City
Wigan showed, they can cope without their star player Victor Moses when they played Southampton last weekend and secured 3 points. Stoke City will offer a different threat and will be more difficult to break down. Fancy Tony Pulis men to fetch 3 points from this game.
Final score: Wigan 1-2 Stoke City
Manchester City vs QPR
Man City will be looking to bounce back after dropping 2 points last time against a spirited Liverpool side. QPR are a newly assembled side with a lot of top class players signed this summer, they will surely take time to gel together. If the game is as nerve wrecking like last time we will surely take it. I am sure Mancini’s side will be the happier team after the game.
Final Score: Man City 3-0 QPR
Newcastle vs Aston Villa
Both clubs will into the game looking for a win. Paul Lambert surely will not be happy with how life has started at Aston Villa: 2 losses in 2 premier league games. Expect a hard earned victory for the Magpies.
Final Score: Newcastle 2-1 Aston Villa
Southampton vs Manchester United
Southampton came close to stunning the champions Manchester City in their first game of the season, but a listless performance and empty stands against Wigan would have hurt them. Meanwhile United will be looking for a strong performance and a clean sheet with Evans back in defence.
Final Score: Southampton 1-3 Manchester United
