With the January transfer window open, Premier League clubs are trying to add to the quality of their teams. Over the long summer window in June, July and August teams did the same. Since then, some players have struggled to settle to demands of arguably the most competitive league in the world, while others have hit the ground running.
The successful players look like money well spent, fantastic investments for the future of the individual club. So who are these players who have begun life in the English Premier League in the best of ways? Who are the players that fans have now become to love in the colours of their team?.
Let's have a look at the five best Premier League signings of the 2018/2019 season so far.
Felipe Anderson (West Ham)
The 25-year-old Brazilian gold medal winner was brought to East London and the Olympic Stadium for a club record transfer of about £35 million. Manuel Pellegrini's revolution at West Ham did not get off to the best of starts losing the first four league fixtures making them early relegation favourites.
However, the team was able to rally behind the quality of their new signings and shoot up the Premier League table with some impressive results. Victories against both Manchester United and Arsenal as well as holding Chelsea to a goalless draw made the rest of the league sit up and take notice of the Irons.
A big part of this success is down to Felipe Anderson, the former Lazio and Santos playmaker has eight goals and two assists in his first season in the Premier League. Sharing his fair share of nutmegs along the way, he has had a Dimitri Payet-like impact on the West Ham left wing.

Richarlison (Everton)
When Marco Silva paid close to £50 million for the talented Brazilian many pundits believed the manager overvalued the player. But there was something Silva saw in the 21-year old, something that he felt confident enough in to convince Everton to splash the cash on the attacker.
In no time, Richarlison showed his new club how special he was scoring a double on his debut vs Wolves. His nine goals are a team high and he is now a full Brazilian international. His full starting debut with the national team, donning the famous number 9 shirt, Richarlison scored a brace, a few months later he added to his international tally in a friendly vs Cameroon.
Now, Everton has a player currently being linked with the every top team of world football and it is just a matter of time when richarlison joins one of the european giants.
Lucas Torreira (Arsenal)
The 22-year old midfield battler who impressed at the World Cup is what Arsenal has been crying out for years. Torreira is a ball-winner who loves the dirty side of the game and is already a fan favourite in North London.
So far this season he has shown that he can score goals too, a famous strike versus London rivals Tottenham just increased his value to the fans and an acrobatic winner at home to Huddersfield sent the Emirates into hysteria.
And there is still more to come from the midfielder. His free kick potential and long-range shooting ability have not yet been realised and these weapons could show their faces to Arsenal supporters before season's end. Easily one of the first names on the Arsenal team sheet in his first season the Uruguayan is looking like money well spent and more.
Alisson (Liverpool)
Many Premier League fans were disappointed that Brazil's starting goalkeeper during the World Cup was not Ederson. Liverpool and Jürgen Klopp fully understood why Alisson Becker was starting and broke the world record transfer for a goalkeeper to bring the custodian from Roma to Liverpool.
After the debacle of the Champions League final and Loris Karius, Liverpool made a statement of intent by going after Alisson and he has repaid the club's faith. Alisson leads the entire Premier League in shutouts with 13 and is part of the league's best defence.
His amazing contribution has seen Liverpool go to the top of the Premier League table after their best-ever Premier League start to a season. In Europe, Alisson was a life saver, his point-blank stop late in the game against Napoli was essential in keeping Liverpool in Europe. Klopp has revealed that the player has exceeded every expectation so far.
Rui Patricio (Wolverhampton Wanderers)
The Jorge Mendes' supported project with Wolverhampton Wanderers has worked amazingly well so far. The team was promoted from the Championship last season and has taken the Premier League by storm.
The newly promoted outfit persuaded Portuguese number one goalkeeper and European champion Rui Patricio to join their journey. A club so heavily influenced by Portuguese players, the move just felt right for all parties. A fall out at Sporting Lisbon saw the keeper originally come on a free but whatever the fee Wolves eventually paid was definitely worth it.
With Patricio in goal, Wolves have a player with immense experience at the very highest level of the game and it shows. He has been instrumental this season with some brilliant saves helping his team beat Tottenham, Liverpool (FA Cup) and Chelsea as well as holding Manchester United, Manchester City, and Arsenal to draws.
