How much does it cost to watch the Premier League?

Fans have played a major role in football right from the last 5 decades. Now the fans have a chance to know how much their club is charging them to watch a match in comparison to other clubs in the Premier League.

To start off, the fans faced a setback right in the beginning of the season as the average season ticket price increased by 4%. Arsenal are selling the most expensive season ticket. The cheapest season ticket you can get to watch the Arsenal play at the Emirates Stadium is £985, whereas the average season ticket price in the Premier League this season ranges from £467.95 to £489.11. This does include matches played under the FA Cup and European Championships though. Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham join Arsenal at the top of the list selling season tickets above £700.

An Arsenal spokesperson said: “We are always looking for ways to improve the experience for all supporters at Emirates Stadium. Last season we re-graded matches to create approximately 90,000 lower-priced tickets over the course of a season, starting from £25.50 for members.”

There has been a hike in the season ticket prices as 7 clubs in the premier league have increased the season ticket prices.

On the other side of the coin is Manchester City who offers season tickets at a price less than £300, along with Cardiff City and Norwich City.

There are similar results for match day tickets as well where Liverpool tops the list charging an average of £38 for a single match at Anfield.

Yet, the most expensive match day ticket is issued by the Gunners charging £126 for the premium seats. Manchester City is yet again the one to offer the cheapest match day tickets at an average price of £30, with which you get a cup of tea and a pie. Newcastle United offer the cheapest adult match-day ticket at £15, with the other three clubs selling one for £20.

If you enjoy a cup of tea and a pie during the match, you would want to support Cardiff City as they sell a pie for just £4, the cheapest in the premier league. Manchester United sells the cheapest tea which just costs £2.50.

But still, the passion in the fans shows in the fact that the number of season tickets being sold this season is more than the number sold last season.
