Premier League: Team of the Week for Game Week 35 - Everton stars headline XI
Left Centre-back: Aymeric Laporte (Manchester City)
Aymeric Laporte has become an integral part of Man City's defence. He gave another example of his work-rate and defensive abilities this weekend against Tottenham Hotspur. The left-footed Frenchman was paired with John Stones, who made a return from an injury this game-week.
Laporte twice saved City with his remarkable defensive display. In the first half, Christian Eriksen's solo run was abruptly put to stop by the defender, while on other occasions, he kept track of Korean Son Heung-Min.
Right Centre-back: Joel Matip (Liverpool)
This weekend, Liverpool again registered an away victory to reclaim their top position on the league table. Jurgen Klopp opted to launch Joel Matip and Virgil Van-Dijk as the defensive duo against Cardiff.
With the Dutchman, Joel Matip displayed a terrific performance against the Welsh side. His positioning and tackling ability helped his team keep another clean sheet. Liverpool have conceded only 20 goals this season and they have the best defensive record in the league.
