#1 Vincent Kompany

Vincent Kompany is a 32-year-old centre-back who currently plays for Manchester City in the Premier League. He has also played for Belgium 87 times since first making his debut for them back in February 2004.
Although Kompany has tried desperately hard over the past couple of seasons to regain his fitness and earn himself a spot back in the first team, he has failed to steer clear of injury which has resulted in him slipping down the ranks.
Once a key player in the squad, Kompany is now surplus to requirements, having been replaced by the next generation. But given how much he has contributed to Manchester City over the years, there must be some sort of role he could be offered behind the scenes at the club once he retires.
Kompany joined City back in 2008 when they had just been taken over by their current owners; he was one of the originals of the "Noisy Neighbours" era and was very much key to their success in the beginning.
He may head to the Belgium league to see out the remainder of his career -- perhaps with Anderlecht, the club he began his footballing journey with.
