Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's Premier League Transfer Roundup. We are into the final few days of the winter transfer window and we expect a lot of drama to unfold from here till the end of the month.

Without further ado, let's take a look at the top Premier League transfer news, rumours and updates of the day that made headlines on 26 January 2019.

Valencia remain keen on signing Javier Hernandez from West Ham

Marcelino, the Valencia manager, has admitted that Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez remains a subject of interest to them. Talking to Mundo Deportivo, he addressed the complicated situation surrounding the transfer.

Earlier this week, various reports had claimed that Valencia have a deal in place to sign the Mexican international on loan until the end of the season. Valencia have been poor in front of goal having scored a meagre 19 goals in 20 La Liga matches this term.

However, Valencia haven't given up on signing Chicharito before the winter transfer window winds up at the end of the month. He said,

“Chicharito is an option because he isn’t playing much and is in favour of joining, but the situation is complicated,"
“The little information I have is that West Ham are only considering a sale, but my job is to put a team out. I’m not the one who decides whether or not to buy footballers.

Valencia's interest in Chicharito is buoyed by the fact that the former Manchester United striker did not try to rule out the possibility of a potential transfer when he was quizzed about it back in November. Speaking to Marca (courtesy: Football London), Chicharito had said,

"I don't know, even this winter!
"I want to play, to participate as much as possible and I have the ability to win a place but I need to respect the decisions being taken and for that reason I am not closing the door on moving this winter."

Leicester City eye Charlie Austin as he is set to depart Southampton

According to Daily Mail, Southampton have told Charlie Austin that he can leave this month with Leicester City interested in the striker. Wolves are also credited with an interest in the 29-year-old.

Austin's current contract will expire at the end of the season and coach Ralph Hasenhuttl does not see him fitting into his plans. Following the arrival of Danny Ings, Austin has seen game time come at a premium and has hit mind set on a move away from the club.

Hasenhuttl has no issues with Charlie Austin's attitude and has labelled the decision a professional one. Youri Tielemans of AS Monaco is yet another player that Leicester City are interested in.

Tottenham will have to up Eriksen's wages if they are to keep him beyond the summer

Real Madrid are being heavily linked with Christian Eriksen and Spurs will need to raise his wages if they are to make him stay at London, according to Express Sport.

Daniel Levy will have to offer the Dane a wage package close to £150,000 per week if they are to have any chance of keeping him beyond this summer.

Eriksen's current contract with Spurs will run out in 2020. The 26-year-old currently earns £75,000 per week and stands the chance to get a huge raise if he signs for Real Madrid at the end of this season. It looks like Spurs are playing their cards too close to their chest.

Arsenal plotting to bring in Ivan Perisic in a desperate attempt to revitalize their wings

In a shocking turn of events, the Gunners have turned all their attention towards Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic who has also been a long-term transfer target of their rivals Manchester United, according to none other than David Ornstein.

Manchester United were credited with an interest as recently as last week and therefore, if the Gunners manage to pull this off, they will have finally managed to upset the Red Devils who has been quite unkind to them when it comes to transfer business.

Arsenal are looking to bring the former Borussia Dortmund man and World Cup finalist on a loan deal till the end of the season with the option to buy him in the summer for £35 million.

Eden Hazard finally has an agreement in place with Real Madrid

Gone?
Gone?

According to transfer expert Ian McGarry (courtesy: Daily Star), Eden Hazard has an agreement in place with Los Blancos and will join the LaLiga giants at the end of the season.

Speaking in the Transfer Window Podcast, McGarry revealed,

“Eden Hazard, 18 months left on his contract, but has been, as he said in and interview with France Football this week, at Chelsea seven years.
“He has won every domestic honour there in that time.
“He does have ambitions to do something differently and as we said right at the beginning of this season, it is my belief that he already has an agreement to join Real Madrid which is up to him whether he takes it or not.
“I believe he will. Therefore, Chelsea’s attempts to get him to sign a contract will fail.”

Given how publicly Hazard has professed his love for Real Madrid and how desperately the Madrid giants want a talisman to replace the goals that were earlier guaranteed by Cristiano Ronaldo, it seems like it's only a matter of time before Hazard dons the all-white kit.
