In the red of Liverpool?

Today sees a host of top clubs being linked to players that they have been linked to before, and players that they haven't been linked before. All of the top 6 clubs feature today and the only club outside that sphere that is on this list is Everton.

So here we go!

#5 Arsenal and Everton

Tottenham Hotspur v Borussia Dortmund - UEFA Europa League Round of 16: Second Leg
Aubameyang could move to Arsenal

Arsenal need to replace Alexis Sanchez and are desperately on the lookout for a goalscoring forward. In their search, they have targeted Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and, according to WA, are willing to pay €60 million for the Borussia Dortmund striker.

"We have the feeling that he [Auba] is not one hundred percent in his head due to the matter [about a possible transfer]," said Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc. According to the same report, Zorc will fly to London on Saturday (today) and will negotiate the deal.

Meanwhile, Everton are being linked with a move for Lille defender Adama Soumaoro by reports in the Liverpool Echo. The French club rate him at £20 million and Everton will have pay that in order to bring him to Goodison Park this January.

Also, Sky Sports claim that Sam Allardyce is interested in Jamie Vardy, but is unlikely to move for the forward after spending a fortune on Cenk Tosun and Theo Walcott.

#4 Tottenham Hotspur

Corinthians v Atletico MG - Brasileirao Series A 2015
Spurs are favourites to land him

Okay, the silly season may have finally begun for the Lilywhites as two old links have resurged to give Spurs fans a lot of hope. The club was previously linked with the Brazilian duo of Malcom and Lucas Moura.

However, those talks had died down… until today. According to Sky Sports, Tottenham are still interested in Lucas Moura, as per “sources close to the winger”.

Meanwhile, Arsenal were heavily linked with Bordeaux forward Malcom, but according to The Telegraph, Spurs have emerged as the favourites to land the Brazilian. They will pay an initial fee of €40 million with €10 million in add-ons, taking the total worth of the deal to €50 million.

#3 Chelsea

Crystal Palace v Burnley - Premier League
New day, new striker linked to Chelsea

Well, all of a sudden, Chelsea are just featuring a lot here. The friction between the Chelsea board and Antonio Conte is very well documented, but it seems as though the board want to make peace with the manager.

In today’s reports, The Daily Mail claim that Chelsea are now eyeing Christian Benteke on loan as Edin Dzeko has doubts about moving to London as he wouldn’t be able to play in the UEFA Champions League this season, should it happen, according to Roma Giallorossa.

However, Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Dzeko has agreed to join Chelsea as the Blues are also negotiating a deal for left-back Ederson Palmieri as well.

Meanwhile, The Mirror say that Chelsea have made contact with Stoke regarding a possible deal for Peter Crouch. It seems as though Antonio Conte is really desperate to land a tall target man for his team.

#2 Manchester madness

Ajax Amsterdam v OSC Nice - UEFA Champions League Qualifying Third Round: Second Leg
Seri might finally get a move to a big club

This will just not cease to exist… like ever. Time might end this universe, but perhaps even that faceless and eternal entity bound by the limitation of a clock can’t stop players from getting linked to Manchester United.

The Mirror report that the Red Devils are leading the chase for Jean Michael Seri, who has a £35 million release clause, and has also been linked with Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Don Balon state that Pep Guardiola has eyed a Barcelona player, but faces the hurdle of Lionel Messi. Apparently. The Catalan coach has eyed Carlos Alena, a player that Messi has a lot of faith on, and will look to sign him.

However, Messi doesn’t want the talented midfielder sold. Messi FC?

#1 Liverpool madness

Real Madrid CF v FC Bayern Muenchen - UEFA Champions League Quarter Final: Second Leg
Liverpool have targeted Marco Asensio

Speaking of Liverpool, it is being reported by Kent Live that the Merseyside outfit are leading the chase for Charlton Athletic defender, Ezri Konsa, who is also being eyed by Liverpool’s eternal rivals, Everton.

Meanwhile, Guillem Balague has told Sky Sports that he knows nothing about Liverpool’s pursuit of Jan Oblak.

Finally, Don Balon have reported that Gareth Bale wants to “pack up and go to the Premier League” as Liverpool have entered the fray to sign him. Jurgen Klopp is apparently willing to pay over €100 million for the former Tottenham man.

No, there’s more. Other reports from Don Balon also claim that Liverpool are after Real Madrid star Marco Asensio, as they looking to invest the Philippe Coutinho money on a star player.
