Fred moves one step closer to Manchester United

While Fellaini may get away from Manchester United's clutches, they are in the running to sign another promising midfielder - Fred. The Shakhtar Donetsk man is reportedly set to undergo a medical at the Old Trafford club on Monday, according to BBC.

As we had mentioned on 1 June, the club were in advanced talks to sign the 25-year-old from the Ukrainian club. Fred played for Brazil in the 2-0 win over Croatia at Anfield, coach Tite wanted the potential deal to be wrapped up quickly.

"When this happens, and it is inevitable, they are going to come to us and our advice to them is resolve this as soon as you can so your head is back with us and focusing on the national team," Tite said. "If I was a manager I'd ask to sign him as well."

The deal is expected to be completed with United paying a fee in the region of £52m.
