Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld’s one-year extension has been triggered. As a result, his contract with Spurs has been extended to 2020. This also means that he could be signed for just £25 million in the next summer transfer window.
According to Paul Merson, having Alderweireld for another year is a bonus for the Lilywhites. He also believes that this brings a feel-good factor to the team with Spurs already flying high in the Premier League.
