Gareth Bale doesn't want to betray Tottenham, David Luiz offered to Arsenal and more: Premier League transfer news - 30 January 2018

Valencia v Real Madrid - La Liga
Bale doesn't want to betray Spurs, say reports

Hello and welcome to the last 48 hours of the January transfer window as I bring to you the latest updates from January 30, 2018. Today, we have some new rumours as well as updates on a few deals that seem to be on the verge of completion.

So without further ado, here are the best rumours of the day…

#5 Burnley, Watford and West Ham

So Burnley are a club that is flying high in the Premier League, sitting at number 8 with the same amount of points as Leicester. As a result, they want to consolidate their position and have targeted Rob Holding, as per The Sun.

According to the report, Sean Dyche wants the Arsenal man on loan.

Meanwhile, journalist Adam Leventhal is of the belief that Watford are considering a move for either Anderlecht’s Leander Dendoncker or Marseille’s Zambo Anguissa.

And then there is West Ham. According to Sky Sports, Fulham have rejected a second bid from West Ham—of £18 million—for midfielder Tom Cairney and have told West Ham that even a £40 million bid wouldn’t be considered.

Sky also reports that West Ham are negotiating a deal for Graziano Pelle.

#4 Liverpool and Newcastle

Gremio v Real Madrid: Final - FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2017
Liverpool's old target

So, Liverpool might not be spending the Coutinho money, after all. Or at least not a big chunk of it. Right now, it is too late to make a big signing, so they might have to wait until the summer before making one.

However, there could be a signing after all as Keita Balde has been linked to the club by the Mirror. The former Lazio winger only joined the French champions in the summer but could be sold to balance the books. Arsenal have also been credited with an interest in the player.

Meanwhile, The Sun reports that Newcastle have joined Liverpool in the race for Brazilian forward Luan, who could be sold for a price of £17.5 million.

#3 Chelsea

AS Roma v UC Sampdoria - Serie A
Dzeko deal seems to have halted

One would have thought that after being linked with tons of strikers, Chelsea would have finally signed someone. Unfortunately, however, they are yet to make a signing, but that might change soon.

According to Goal.com, Chelsea are still hopeful of signing Edin Dzeko from Roma, with Giroud and Fernando Llorente as alternatives, should the aforementioned deal go south. Meanwhile, Emerson Palmieri is set for a medical at Chelsea after Roma and the London club agreed to a £17.5 million deal for the left-back, according to Goal.com.

Meanwhile, Gianluca Di Marzio claims that the Blues have reached an agreement for Olivier Giroud with Arsenal for £15 million plus bonuses. The deal will be sealed once Aubameyang’s transfer to Arsenal is completed.

Finally, Matt Law says that Tottenham will only sell Fernando Llorente to Chelsea for £25 million.

#2 North London

International Champions Cup - Benfica vs Paris Saint-Germain
Moura could finally join Tottenham

The London clubs are busy. They are the perfect example of last-minute hustlers who, as the tag suggests, take to books at the very last minute.

According to the Daily Star, Chelsea have offered David Luiz to Arsenal in an exchange deal that would see France striker Olivier Giroud move to the Stamford Bridge.

Mundo Deportivo have made a claim tonight that might excite a lot of Gunners: Atletico Madrid are willing to sell Yannick Carassco for €50 million and Arsenal are one of the clubs interested.

Meanwhile, Lucas Moura has travelled to London to complete his medical ahead of a £25 million move to Tottenham Hotspur, say Goal.com (they are on fire today, aren’t they?).

#1 Manchester madness

Chelsea v Southampton - Premier League
Not going to City

Ha! Glad to be here. I am so happy that I get to write this space just because I know that the world might end, but rumours surrounding the Manchester clubs won’t.

Anyways, Footmercato believes that both Manchester United and Manchester City are interested in acquiring the signature of Monaco starlet, Benoit Badiashile. Meanwhile, there is some bad news for Manchester City as Chelsea will not sell Eden Hazard to them even if they make a record bid of £200 million for him, as per The Telegraph.

Finally, Manchester United are interested in Arturo Vidal and could sign him in the summer, say Bild. Oh, and also, Don Balon believes that Gareth Bale doesn’t want to join Chelsea—as it would be “betraying" Tottenham—and wants to play for Manchester United instead.
