#5 Doucoure makes PSG admission

Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure has revealed his honour at being linked to PSG. The Hornets midfielder has been in good form for his team, which is why a number of clubs have been eying him.

The latest of the lot seems to be the French giants and Doucoure admitted that he wants to leave but nothing concrete has happened as of yet as PSG haven’t contacted Watford. He then went on to state that he is only focusing on performing well with the Hornets right now.

“I think I am going to leave Watford. The club know my ambitions and want to help me get to the next level,” he said.

“I'm flattered by the interest of PSG but for the moment there's nothing concrete. I will focus on my performance for my club.

“There has not been any contact, Watford have not been contacted by PSG. It is just things in the press.

“I've not had contact with PSG and they've not contacted Watford. My goal is to play well for Watford and then maybe join a Champions League team.”

Doucoure, however, was honest to claim that the French giants have a lot of targets and that he might not be a huge priority for them after all.

“Probably small as they follow a number of players. I'm not the priority that's for sure but if there is an opportunity then we will look into it.”

He then opened up to the possibility of leaving the club in the winter market itself and amid interest from even Italy, he would only consider joining a club if they are in the Champions League,

“This winter we'll study all possibilities on offer. The most important thing for me is to continue to progress and with my performances, I'll succeed in playing for a club in Europe.

“Staying in England is a possibility and the Italian league is becoming more interesting. There are clubs who have returned to show interest in me again. The first criteria for me is that the club plays in the Champions League.”

#4 Ancelotti on Koulibaly leaving stories

Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti has spoken on the speculations linking Kalidou Koulibaly to Manchester United. The press in England had suggested that the Senegalese star could quit Italy due to the racism row and join the Red Devils in England.

However, the former Real Madrid manager has confirmed that the defender won’t be going anywhere since he is happy at Naples – despite the racism incident, which Ancelotti thinks isn’t enough to trigger him to leave for pastures new in the Premier League.

"In England, they write that Koulibaly can leave because of the problem of racism, I do not think so," Ancelotti said.

"Koulibaly is happy in Naples, he's upset like others, but it will not be a trigger for a goodbye.

"He never showed it, he wants to stay in Naples and in Italy, a country he likes very much."

#3 Manchester madness

De Gea urged to sign a new contract
De Gea urged to sign a new contract

David De Gea was very good against Spurs at Wembley as he made numerous saves to deny the Lilywhites from scoring. And now, Jesse Lingard has expressed his desire for the Spaniard to stay at the club amid delays to sign an extension.

“We want him to stay. Having a keeper like that gives you extra confidence. He’s a great goalkeeper,” Lingard said.

Meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that former United striker Giuseppe Rossi is training with the club but ruled out a move for him before adding that he could stay and train for another week.

"We are not going to sign Giuseppe, I don’t think," Solskjaer was quoted as saying. "He’s training well with us, he looks sharp. He’s looking for a job and a club, so he’s probably going to stay another week with us unless someone takes him.

#2 Madrid eye Eriksen

Speaking on Transfer Talk podcast, journalist Graham Hunter revealed that Real Madrid are eying a move for Spurs midfielder Christian Eriksen, whose contract ends in 2020. The midfield maestro has been stalling contract talks with the club and Madrid might take advantage of it in the summer.

While Hunter admitted that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is a difficult man to negotiate with, Eriksen’s contract situation allows the power to shift towards the Galacticos and the desire of the player himself.

"There is no question whatsoever that Real Madrid see Christian Eriksen as the perfect signing," said Hunter.

"They would like to add him to their squad this summer.

"I think everybody respects the way that (Tottenham chairman) Daniel Levy conducts his transfer negotiations, but the power is always with the player and the buying club when a contract is running down in the way that Eriksen's contract is at Tottenham.”

#1 Tottenham torment

Lionel Messi advised Barcelona to not sign the Colombian due to his price
Lionel Messi advised Barcelona to not sign the Colombian due to his price

This is perhaps the first time in this roundup’s history that Tottenham got the last and ultimate slide of the day. The reason being, the stories surrounding the Lilywhites were just about explosive enough to find a place here.

According to Don Balon, Barcelona were interested in signing Davinson Sanchez from the London outfit. However, Lionel Messi objected to the €60 million price tag as the Colombian is quite prone to injuries. That is perhaps a tad harsh for a player of Sanchez's calibre.

Meanwhile, Football.London report that Mousa Dembele has flown to China to complete his exit from Tottenham. The midfielder had been touted for a move for a while now and it seems as though the deal would cost around £11 million.
