Suarez is close to joining Arsenal

Arsenal are close to signing Denis Suarez in the winter transfer window, according to Sky Sports. The midfielder had previously worked with Emery and the Spaniard is now hopeful of reuniting with him.

Meanwhile, Unai Emery himself has admitted that he wishes for the club makes two signings to strengthen a couple of positions.

The former PSG manager stated that the club are working to sign players as he hopes that the Gunners are able to bring in a central defender as well as a winger, hinting towards a move for Denis Suarez from Barcelona.

“I think the club is working for the possibility to take some players who can help us during these next four months,” he said.

“Maybe the transfer market can help us with a centre-back, but it is not easy because also (Konstantinos) Mavropanos is coming back after injury. Also a winger, right or left, one player can help us in this position.”
