It depends on Abramovich
Former Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood believes that the decision to let Eden Hazard go to Madrid solely rests on the shoulders of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich. Sherwood stated that since Abramovich has a lot of money, it would be difficult for Hazard to make the decision.
He also added that should Abramovich not want the Belgian to leave, he can stop him from doing so. However, it might not be the right to do and Sherwood thinks that the tycoon would allow the former Lille star to move like a nice gentleman.
"When you have an owner who’s got more money than God, it’s difficult for a player to call the shots,” he said.
“If Abramovich decides he doesn’t want to let him go, he doesn’t have to. But will he do the right thing? If Eden wants to leave, I believe he will be a gentleman about it and let him leave Chelsea after the service he has given the club."
