Aguero could be used as a swapping tool

Hello and welcome to the Premier League transfer roundup for January 25th, 2018. Today’s mill is more about clubs reaching close to tie down deals with some clubs being linked with new players. Overall, a busy day in the rumours’ section.

So here are the best rumours of the day…

#5 Crystal Palace and Newcastle

If you have followed this section for a while, you will realise that Crystal Palace are one of the clubs that constantly find themselves here. Alongside Manchester United, they are one of the most active clubs in the rumour mill section and today is no different.

According to Evening Standard, goalkeeper Vicente Guaita is close to joining Roy Hodgson’s side as he has arrived in England ahead of a deal worth £7 million. The Getafe shot-stopper has been in good form this season as he has conceded only 18 goals in as many games.

Meanwhile, according to Bild, Newcastle are eyeing a move for Hertha’s Davie Selke. Stoke City are also said to be after the player who has scored 9 goals in 16 league games this season.

#4 Some London

ACF Fiorentina v FC Internazionale - Serie A
Mario could finally join West Ham

West Ham are another one of those clubs that have been targeting players of top clubs. Their intention is to bring them on loan and give them the run of games that they have been deprived of at their current clubs.

And one of those players is Joao Mario. According to the Daily Mail, the midfielder will join West Ham on loan and has arrived in London for his medical. The loan fee is reportedly set at £1.2 million with an option to sign him on a permanent transfer of £26 million.

Meanwhile, BBC report that Arsenal’s latest offer of €50 million for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been rejected by Borussia Dortmund. They claim that Dortmund want more than £50 million for the Gabonese forward.

#3 Chelsea and Everton

AS Roma v Atalanta BC - Serie A
Chelsea's search could end with Dzeko

So Chelsea are one of the clubs that have been featuring heavily in this section due to their continued pursuit of strikers. They have been linked with a host of target man strikers and might finally get one in the form of Edin Dzeko.

The Blues could sign the Bosnian as early as Thursday, say Tuttomercatoweb. His wages, according to Corriere dello Sport, is somewhere around €8 million-a-year. Seems like Alvaro Morata will finally get a competitor.

Meanwhile, according to Turkish outlet Aksam, Dusko Tosic wants to leave Istanbul as he has been denied a pay rise. As a result, Everton are set to hold talks with the defender who is also being tracked by Leicester City.

#2 Watford and Swansea

Atletico Madrid v Elche - Copa Del Rey
Gaitan in action

Yeah, I mean I have totally messed up with you by putting Watford here. By now, if you are a religious reader of this space, you would have expected a top club here. But I love messing with the minds of people.

And I have now. Anyways, Watford have their own war to fight and are, according to HITC, set to sign Swedish goalkeeper Pontus Dalhberg. The 18-year-old is one of the most talented goalkeepers around and will be a great signing Watford should it happen.

Meanwhile, The Sun report that Nicolas Gaitan could be off to Swansea on loan as they are willing to pay him £120,000-a-week—that is how desperate they are to get out of the bottom and avoid relegation.

#1 Manchester madness

Sevilla v Atletico de Madrid - Spanish Copa del Rey
Aguero-Griezmann swap?

What did you think? That the madness would end because the window is about to be slammed shut? Remember one thing, folks: madness NEVER ends. It just continues like a cycle that has no beginning and no end.

Speaking of madness, the amount of players that have been linked with Manchester has been astonishing, to say the least. It seems as though the rumour mill never falls short of players to connect with the Manchester club.

And today, Manchester Evening News have linked Alex Sandro to Manchester United. They believe that the Old Trafford outfit will be seeking the services of the Juventus left-back in the summer as a replacement for Luke Shaw.

Meanwhile, Don Balon state that Toni Kroos wants to leave Real Madrid and Pep Guardiola admires him and could sign him for Manchester City.

Finally, The Sun believe that Pep Guardiola will let go of Sergio Aguero to Atletico Madrid in order to sign Antoine Griezmann.
