Premier League transfer news: Gareth Bale to Chelsea, Ben Arfa to return to England and more - 27th December 2017

Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League
David Moyes is a man on a mission

Ha. Well. When you write about the same thing every day, you run out of options when it comes to introducing the slides. Nevertheless, a man has to do what he is supposed to — and my job is to bring to you the latest Premier League transfer rumours in a way that you won’t find banal to read.

Today’s report consists of some of the hottest prospects linked with a variety of English clubs. Also, I found out a pattern regarding West Ham United. Arsenal and Manchester City are also among the clubs here and so are Tottenham Hotspur.

On that note, here are the best Premier League rumours of the day…

#5 The Hammers march on

I have just realized something. Apart from Manchester United, West Ham are the other United that have been constantly linked with great players so far this month. With the January window inching closer, it seems as though David Moyes is hell-bent on bringing in a cavalry of his own.

And now, according to Spanish publication AS, West Ham are interested in Leganes midfielder, Gabriel Pires. The Brazilian has been in good form in La Liga this season and has been on Moyes' radar for a while.

The best part for West Ham is that he has a release clause of only £17.75 million.

Meanwhile, the Londoners are also interested in acquiring the signature of Benfica midfielder, Bryan Cristante, who is on loan at Atalanta, for a quoted fee of around £22 million according to Premium Sport.

Atalanta wish to sign him first -- a clause allows them to do so for as little as £4.5 million -- before offloading him for a profit to the Premier League outfit. Warren Buffet would be proud of Atalanta.

#4 Dusko Tosic is in demand

Serbia v Republic of Ireland - FIFA 2018 World Cup Qualifier
One of the most consistent defenders in Turkey

Ever since joining Besiktas in Turkey, Dusko Tosic has been an important figure for the Turkish giants in defence. However, he might be for sale after the club acquired the services of Domagoj Vida, and three Premier League clubs are keen on him.

According to Vatan, Tottenham Hotspur, Stoke City and Everton are keeping tabs on the defender. The 32-year-old has formed an excellent centre-half pairing with veteran defender, Pepe, at the heart of the defence, but his age means that his value will keep decreasing.

And hence, Besiktas are willing to let him go for as little as £3 million which is a complete bargain for a player of his caliber.

#3 Ben Arfa back to PL?

International Champions Cup 2016 - Paris Saint-Germain v Leicester City
An escape route for Ben Arfa

Once upon a time, Hatem Ben Arfa was rated among the best young talents in Europe. And some of his best showings came at Newcastle United. However, his volatile nature never allowed him to fully develop into the player that he could have been.

There was some hope when he was rocking it at Nice, but his move to PSG just put him back to a state of stagnation. However, he could get his career back on track with a move back to the Premier League, with Leicester City being very interested in him, according to Le Parisien.

It is said that current Leicester manager, Claude Puel, wants to bring the player who played his best football under the very same manager while at Nice, back to England. He will, however, only move if PSG pay his entire wages until June 2018 (his contract deadline), which is £2.66 million.

#2 Madrid duo to Chelsea

Al Jazira v Real Madrid CF - FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2017
A move to the Premier League might help Bale

While this might sound like a deception, it is not if you think about it deeply. After all, the two players that I am about to mention play for the two big Madrid clubs — Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

And both of them have been linked with Chelsea.

The first of them is Yannick Carrasco. The Belgian seems to have fallen down the pecking order at Atletico. It was previously reported that the pacy winger had trouble with his team-mates and some members of the coaching staff, which is why Diego Simeone was willing to sell him.

And according to AS, Chelsea are interested in him. The other player that the Blues are keen on is Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale. Yes, you read that right. Not Manchester United, not Tottenham, but Chelsea.

And according to Catalan publication Sport, the move could happen in the summer of 2018.

#1 Some Arsenal and Manchester stuff

Portugal U17 vs Germany U17, Algarve Cup U17
Dennis Jastrzembski is highly talented

You know, I almost began to think that it was going to be a day without a single mention of a player being linked to one of the Manchester clubs. However, I could not have been more wrong.

According to Transfermarkt, Dennis Jastrzembski is a player who not only has an almost impossible-to-pronounce name, but also a highly talented right foot. His contract ends at the end of the season, rendering him free to move.

The Hertha Berlin talent turns 18 in February and, as a result, can sign a professional contract. Both Manchester City and Arsenal are apparently interested and will most likely pursue the player.
