Premier League: Race for 'Top Four' will go down to the wire

Manchester United v Huddersfield Town - Premier League
Alexis Sanchez is an impact player for Manchester United

With Manchester City running away with 13 points lead at the top, the rest of 'Big Six' are fighting up for remaining three UEFA Champions League places, and the race is bound to go down to the last day of the season. On that note, here's a look at the rest of the chasing pack:

Manchester United

Manchester United seem to be cementing their place at the 2nd. They are 5 points ahead of Liverpool, who sit third, and lead Chelsea by six points. With Manchester City drawing against Burnley, the lead has now been reduced to 13 points.

Getting Alexis Sanchez from under the noses of Manchester City is a fantastic achievement for them. If Manchester United can continue their winning run, and should City continue to drop points, then they might just have a chance of late title push.

Liverpool

Liverpool's inconsistency might hamper their ambition for the Top four
Liverpool's inconsistency might hamper their ambition for the top four

Liverpool have been relatively plagued by inconsistency this season. After becoming the first team to beat Manchester City in the League, they lost away at Swansea soon after.

Their latest draw against Spurs shows that they have failed to close out matches and get results. If Virgil van Djik had avoided the splash at Lamela, then they would have got three points against Tottenham.

However, with Chelsea losing against Watford, they are still 3rd - a point ahead of Chelsea.

Chelsea

Watford v Chelsea - Premier League
Chelsea are on a bad run after latest humiliation against Watford

Chelsea are in danger of dropping out of the top four with two humiliating defeats against Bournemouth and Watford. Goals have dried up for them in recent games, and it has been very shocking for Chelsea fans.

Manager Antonio Conte's future is uncertain at the moment, and he could even get sacked before the match against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.

Luis Enrique is reportedly already the front-runner for the job. It is now up to Chelsea's Board to decide to part company with Conte. Signing Olivier Giroud from rivals Arsenal will help, while Emerson Palmieri from Roma also looks like a decent buy.

With the league visibly out of reach, they can still win the FA cup and finish the season on high.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur are in really good form, of late. Their performance against Liverpool last Sunday is one of the stand-out away performance of the season, as they look like a side capable of a top-four finish.

They have been consistent this season, on the whole. While Harry Kane is undeniably the go-to man for them. Lucas Moura is also a really good addition for Tottenham.

He is a fantastic player, who was out of favour at Paris Saint-Germain. With Chelsea being extremely inconsistent this season, they have every chance of finishing in the top 4, or even catching Manchester United to the 2nd spot.

Arsenal

Aubamayeng will be a hit for Arsenal

Arsenal seem to be getting their season back on track after a humiliating defeat against Swansea. Losing Alexis Sanchez to rivals Manchester United is a big blow for them, but signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for £56 million is a bargain.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is also a big scalp, who could prove to be very important for the Gunners. With Liverpool and Chelsea being as inconsistent as they have been, Arsenal still have a chance at finishing in the top four.

The 5-1 defeat of Everton this past weekend was very impressive, and if they can keep up the momentum, anything is possible. Further, they can also end the season with a trophy having reached the League Cup final - where they face Pep Guardiola's indomitable Manchester City squad.

However, in cup games, anything can happen on a given day, so it'll only be foolish to completely rule out a title for the Gunners.
