Sitting just ahead of Rodri in Pep Guardiola's fluid Manchester City formation, Ilkay Gundogan has been a vibrant part of the team's attack. The 31-year-old flourished for City last season, scoring 13 Premier League goals. Although he might not replicate those exploits this campaign, Gundogan has been sublime for City once again.

In the Champions League, Gundogan has registered two assists in five games. In the Premier League, the German midfielder has contributed three goals and as many assists in 12 games. All three assists have notably come in City's last five league games.

#2 Joao Cancelo | Manchester City defender

Joao Cancelo has played for Manchester City on the left-flank for most of this season, but has also made a few appearances on the right. Although he has played for the club since 2019, the versatile full-back has not enjoyed a more impressive start to a season than this one.

Thanks to his consistency and fitness, Cancelo has played 17 of 18 Premier League games this campaign. His offensive output has been brilliant, creating four goals and scoring once thus far.

In the Champions League, the Portuguese has been even more impressive, bagging two goals and assisting four in just five games.

#1 Bernardo Silva | Manchester City midfielder

Bernando Silva has arguably been Manchester City's best player thus far this season.

The midfielder has netted a team-high seven goals in just 17 Premier League appearances this season. That's his best tally in the competition, which he did so in 2018-19 in 36 games.

The 27-year-old has flourished in recent weeks for City, scoring three goals in their last five games, including a brace against Watford.

Thanks to his improved consistency, Silva has contributed at least one goal every three games since October. With the second half of the season around the corner, Guardiola will hope Silva continues his imperious form.
