In a world where clubs spend millions to sign the best goalkeepers in the world, Chelsea's £7 million signing of Petr Chech in 2004 was a great steal.

The former Czech Republic international quickly became one of the best goalkeepers in the world during his time at Stamford Bridge, and broke numerous records during his fifteen-year career in the Premier League.

He made 333 Premier League appearances for Chelsea during his eleven years with the club and 110 appearances for Arsenal during his four years with the Gunners.

Čech holds the Premier League record for the fewest appearances required to reach 100 clean sheets. He achieved the feat in just 180 appearances. He holds the record for the most clean sheets in Premier League history with 202. He has won the Golden Glove a joint record four times; in the 2004–05, 2009–10, 2013–14 and the 2015–16 seasons.

#2 Robin van Persie, Arsenal

Arsenal signed Robin van Persie in the hope that he would eventually become the ideal long-term replacement for Dennis Bergkamp. The Gunners secured the signing of Van Persie in the summer of 2004 from Feyenoord in a deal worth jus £2.75 million.

Van Persie began his Arsenal career as a fleet-footed winger with a devastating left-foot, but eventually developed into one of the best strikers the Premier League has ever seen.

After the departure of Thierry Henry to Barcelona in 2007, Van Persie became the team's talisman. He scored 57 goals in just 79 league appearances in his final three seasons with Arsenal before joining Manchester United in 2012.

Van Persie was unable to help Arsenal win the Premier League during his time with the club, but he will forever be remembered as one of the best bargain signings the Premier League has ever seen.

Manchester United signed Eric Cantona from arch-rivals Leeds United in 1993 in a deal worth just £1.25 million, which at the time was a large sum of money to spend on a footballer.

Cantona, however, went on to become one of the most iconic players in the history of the Premier League and Manchester United. The Frenchman undoubtedly helped usher in an era of dominance during his time at Red Devils.

Cantona is regarded as one of the best signings in the history of the Premier League. His impact on the Red Devils is one that has rarely been matched by a Manchester United player in their illustrious history. He was recently inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame.
