Marquinhos is widely regarded as one of the best goalscoring defenders in the game at the moment.

Since arriving from AS Roma in the summer of 2013, the Brazilian has made almost 350 appearances for PSG, sizzling at both ends of the pitch. Still only 27, the PSG captain has racked up 34 goals and nine assists for his club.

Last season, Marquinhos became only the third player in Champions League history to score in the quarter-finals and semi-finals in consecutive seasons. He's yet to score in this season's competition, but has laid out one assist in seven games.

Since the departure of his compatriot Thiago Silva in the summer of 2020, Marquinhos has taken over the mantle of being PSG's defensive lynchpin. He is currently contracted with the Parisians until the summer of 2024. The Ligue 1 giants are reportedly ready to tie him down for three more years

Marco Verratti has enjoyed a fabulous near decade-long stint at the Parc des Princes.

Widely considered one of the game's best defensive midfielders in the current circuit, the Euro 2020 winner has made over 350 appearances for PSG. Though the 29-year-old has scored only 11 times - including twice this season - he has provided an impressive 59 assists.

Verratti produced a masterclass in PSG's 1-0 win against Real Madrid in the Champions League Round of 16 on Tuesday. The seven-time Ligue 1 winner did so against Los Blancos' world-class midfield trio of Casemiro, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.

Currently contracted until the summer of 2024, Verratti looks set to stay at the club for a few more years.
