Real Madrid 6-0 Celta de Vigo: Player Ratings

Real Madrid v Celta de Vigo - La Liga
It was an easy night and an easy win for Real Madrid

Real Madrid thrashed Celta Vigo 6-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu in their final home game of the season. Real scored three in the first half and three in the second with a first-half double from Gareth Bale and a splendid third goal from Isco.

The story was the same in the second period as it took the Los Blancos only seven minutes to find the net, through fullback Achraf Hakimi. An own goal by Sergi Gomez and a sixth by Toni Kroos compiled Celta's misery as their slim chances of finishing in the top 10 diminished.

Real registered their 22nd win of the league season and move up to 75 points whereas Celta Vigo drop down to 13th in the table with 46 points and their goal difference slides down to a negative.

On that note, here is a look at the player ratings:

Real Madrid

Real Madrid v Celta de Vigo - La Liga
Bale scored his fourth brace of the season

Keylor Navas - 6/10

Navas was quick to get down and save Daniel Wass' headed effort in the first half. Except for that, the Costa Rican was barely troubled for the entire duration of the game.

Achraf Hakimi - 8/10

Achraf looked very lively going forward, beating the Celta defenders with his speed that also helped the Real Madrid midfielders in putting a lot of through balls on the break. He got the reward for his hard work when he scored his second career goal for the Los Blancos.

Raphaël Varane - 7/10

It was a comfortable night for Varane, clearing away all forms of attack as Celta Vigo were unable to create even any significant half chances.

Nacho - 7/10

Nacho was once again consistent, fulfilling his role by being ever present in the box when the opposition got the ball, allowing very little space as he accumulated three interceptions and three clearances respectively.

Marcelo - 7/10

Marcelo had a great night against the struggling Celta defense, running down the wing, putting in numerous passes and crosses as well as getting involved himself in the build-up around the box.

Casemiro - 7/10

The Brazilian was lucky not to be penalized when a clumsy challenge from behind by him was not given a penalty. However, he did have an excellent range of long passing and was brilliant defensively in midfield as he intercepted five passes.

Toni Kroos - 8/10

The German was very good in recovering the ball as he retrieved the ball seven times. Kroos scored Real's final goal, rushing in from midfield and required only one touch as he finished it off with his left foot.

Luka Modric - 7/10

Modric's vision and pass put Gareth Bale through that helped Real Madrid to break the deadlock early on. The Croatian had only one shot in the game which ricocheted off the post but as always, he was very influential in midfield, completing many successful key passes.

Gareth Bale - 9/10

Bale timed his run perfectly and needed just two touches to put the ball in the back of the net for Real's first goal of the night.

He created the second goal himself, preventing the ball from going out then getting past the defender and smashing it in the top corner to complete his brace and make it 15 goals in the league this season.

Karim Benzema - 7/10

Benzema was involved in the fourth goal, playing the pass through to Achraf Hakimi to make it 11 assists for the season. As usual, he played his role, getting involved in the build-up for which Real Madrid manager Zidane relies upon him before being taken off in the 63rd minute.

Isco - 8/10

Isco put in a magnificent performance in the 62 minutes he played and scored a beautiful curler from the left-hand side, placing the ball in the top right corner giving no chance to the keeper as Real Madrid completed the first-half rout.

Substitutes

Marco Asensio - 6/10

Asensio played in a quick one-two with Marcelo and created Real's fifth, forcing the defender to commit himself, ultimately leading to an own goal.

Borja Mayoral - 7/10

Mayoral made his strength count by hanging on to the ball from a Modric pass and then turned around to lay it off for an incoming Toni Kroos for Real's sixth.

Lucas Vázquez - N/A

Replaced Bale in the 71st minute and did not have much of a contribution.

Celta Vigo

Real Madrid v Celta de Vigo - La Liga
Celta's players lacked effort and passion

Sergio Álvarez - 7/10

Sergio barely had a chance to save Gareth Bale's second goal as it was hit with maximum power and his delayed reaction of Isco's shot beat him as he wasn't able to get even a slight touch of the ball. He did eventually make a total of six saves, pulling out a good amount of routine stops in the second half.

Sergi Gómez - 4/10

The former Barcelona center back scored an own goal and Real's fifth, as his interception off Marco Asensio's cross instead ended up with the ball going past his own goalkeeper as his sliding effort proved to be futile.

Facundo Roncaglia - 5/10

The Argentinian had a hard time against the Real attack, unable to win any aerial duels and was able to put in just a couple of successful challenges during the course of the game.

Jonny - 5/10

Jonny can be partly blamed for the last goal as he didn't put in enough effort to block Toni Kroos' shot since he was covering the back post and the ball had come directly towards his feet.

Hugo Mallo - 5/10

The Celta captain received the only yellow card of the game for a careless challenge on Marcelo towards the closing stages of the game. Mallo disappointed going forward, providing just one successful cross with an average pass completion rate as many of his attempted passes were getting intercepted.

Stanislav Lobotka - 6/10

The Serbian had a 95% pass completion rate and completed two dribbles as well as successfully delivering five successful long balls from midfield.

Jozabed - 5/10

The midfielder covered a total distance of 9.4 km but his all-around effort on both ends of the pitch wasn't of much significance as none of his passes were good enough to be met by his attackers.

Daniel Wass - 5/10

Wass had the only shot on target for Celta, but his headed effort was denied by Keylor Navas. Playing in midfield instead of his preferred wing role, the Danish international was unable to get himself involved in the final third of the pitch.

Maxi Gómez - 5/10

Gomez ruined a decent number of Celta Vigo attacks due to his inability of timing his runs, as he was caught offside thrice and lost the ball on two different occasions.

Lucas Boyé - 5/10

Boye created a couple of chances himself and put in work defensively in his first half stay, before being substituted at halftime.

Brais Méndez - 6/10

Mendez did try to create something of substance playing on the left wing but it lacked output. Similarly, he tracked back to help out in defense, putting in a few successful tackles.

Substitutes

Pablo Hernández - 5/10

Coming on at half-time, the Chilean failed to deliver any sort of impact on the offensive end.

Nemanja Radoja - N/A

Replaced Jozabed in the 70th minute.

Iago Aspas - N/A

Came on for Brais Mendez in the final ten minutes of the game.
