Dani Carvajal has been one of Real's most dependable performers in recent seasons
Right-back Dani Carvajal might not be the most flashy purchase that Real Madrid have ever made – full-backs often don’t tend to be – but his signing from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2013, via a buyback clause after the Spaniard had moved there from Real’s B team in 2012, has proven to be one of Los Blancos’ most successful in recent memory.

Carvajal has been Real’s first-choice right-back since his move back to the Bernabeu, and over the years that have followed he’s put together a tremendous record of 258 appearances, scoring a total of 6 goals in the process – including one in El Clasico in late 2016. He’s also helped Real to secure a staggering 14 major trophies.
Chosen as a starter in all four of Real’s Champions League victories during the decade, Carvajal is still only 27 years old – meaning he’s likely to be a dependable starter for Los Blancos for years to come. It’s a highly impressive record given that it only cost €6.5m to bring him back to the Bernabeu.
