Real Madrid have a tough task on their hands to ensure they are able to compete with Barcelona in terms of the La Liga title race next season and have to sign quality players in the summer as well as offload the ones who are not part of Zinedine Zidane's plans.

Here are the top Real Madrid transfer news from 22 March 2018.

Real Madrid accept £113m bid for Gareth Bale

Real Madrid have declared their intentions of selling Gareth Bale in the summer after accepting a £113million bid from an unnamed Chinese Club as per the latest reports and now it is up to the winger to agree to a transfer move to China.

However, according to Daily Star, Bale has confirmed his desires to only join a European side if he has to quit Bernabeu in the summer. Bale's future at Real Madrid has come under serious doubt after another injury-struck campaign where manager Zinedine Zidane is now looking for a more reliable attacking option next summer.

Real Madrid are keen on signing Eden Hazard from Chelsea in the summer to replace Bale and are even targetting Robert Lewandowski ahead of a complete squad overhaul as Karim Benzema is also rumoured to be heading out of Santiago Bernabeu.

Neymar thinks it was a mistake to join PSG

Neymar's proposed move to Real Madrid is inching ever so closer as the Brazilian outlet UOL Esporte are reporting a possible meeting between Real Madrid President Florentino Perez and Neymar's agent Pini Zahavi.

According to reports, Zahavi has held a meeting with Neymar's representatives, Neymar's lawyers, his manager and the Real Madrid chiefs to discuss a potential move to Santiago Bernabeu next season.

Despite getting off to a goal-scoring start with PSG, Neymar is not happy with his decision to join PSG after the French club were knocked out of the Champions League round of 16 stage after being outplayed by Real Madrid.

Neymar is also tempted by the prospects of going back to Barcelona after the Catalan side signed Neymar's long-time friend Philippe Coutinho in January 2018. Neymar's transfer saga is certain to keep everyone interested even though his current club PSG continue to maintain their stance on not selling Neymar under any plausible scenario.

Chelsea and Real Madrid battle for Icardi in the summer

Premier League side Chelsea have officially submitted a £55.2million bid to beat Real Madrid sign Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi in the upcoming summer transfer window, according to reports from Metro.

Chelsea are struggling with goals at the moment with Alvaro Morata failing to justify his hefty price tag from Real Madrid last summer. Manager Antonio Conte is a big fan of Icardi's abilities up front and has asked the board to spend more than £55m to sign the Argentine striker.

Real Madrid were also in the race to sign Icardi but have now turned their attention to Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski to improve their attacking options next season.
