Real Madrid’s pursuit for Ronaldo’s replacement is taking them from one player to another. While Hazard has been linked, Neymar and Mbappe are also being eyed.
According to Guillem Balague, however, the Galacticos chief Florentino Perez wants Neymar because not only is he an elite footballer, but also on par with Lionel Messi and Ronaldo in terms of marketability. Balague also added that Neymar wants to leave but PSG will make it very difficult.
“The one that they really are excited about, that’s Florentino Perez, it’s Neymar,” Balague said.
“Why? Because he feels he could fill the void of a Cristiano Ronaldo or [Lionel] Messi, there’s nobody else that he sees that could have the commercial impact of him but also on the pitch as well. And Neymar definitely wants to leave.
“The problem is, PSG have not put any kind of figure to his head. They haven’t allowed him to leave. It’s going to be very, very hard."
