Hello and welcome to the Real Madrid latest transfer news and rumours of the day! Here are the best stories surrounding the Galacticos tonight!

#4 Mourinho could join Madrid

Jose Mourinho could yet become the next manager of Real Madrid according to journalist Graham Hunter. The Portuguese left the Galacticos quite unceremoniously in 2013 but was still on good terms with Florentino Perez – the man who pulls the strings at the Bernabeu.

As a result, reports of Perez bringing him back have come up and Graham Hunter is of the opinion that it is impossible to rule out a return for the Portuguese. He also revealed that Mourinho was offered to take over from Rafa Benitez mid-season in 2016 and also once again after Zinedine Zidane left, but he refused to come back on both occasions.

"It's impossible to say 'it's definitely going to happen',” Hunter said.

"But, for example, when Rafa Benitez was sacked, the first phone call that Florentino Perez made was to try and ascertain whether Jose Mourinho would take over mid-season. He said no.

"I think understandably Zidane's subsequent time for two-and-a-half seasons was extremely successful, especially in Europe, and they won a league title.

"Given he went away, the offer for Mourinho to come in and succeed him was made last summer.

“Again, with him feeling that he had better times ahead for his reign at Manchester United last summer, again he said no."

Hunter then admitted that Perez still appreciates him and that Mourinho thinks that he has unfinished business with the Merengues.

"Perez was one of those who appreciated what Mourinho achieved when he came to Real Madrid," he added.

"Jose Mourinho left Real Madrid feeling he had unfinished business and he was a little bit underappreciated.”

#3 Solari on Isco

Real Madrid manager Santiago Solari has revealed that he is not in the position to advice players like Isco, who has been somewhat isolated by the Argentine manager and is being linked with a move out of the Santiago Bernabeu.

And the former Castilla manager is of the opinion that despite being young, the players at the Santiago Bernabeu have a lot experience as well as accolades under their belt, which means that they do have the ability to make the best decision for themselves.

"I'm not the one to advise anyone," he said. "These players have a lot of experience and many titles.

"A footballer who comes into the first team and has been around so long has all the experience necessary to know what they have to do.

"There are young people, but also others with a lot of experience."

#2 The goalkeeper conundrum

Casilla has become a forgotten man

Real Madrid currently have three senior goalkeepers in the squad. While Thibaut Courtois is the obvious first choice, Keylor Navas is the deputy to the Belgian whereas Kiko Casilla has basically gone into the oblivion as the third-choice ‘keeper.

However, he might be put out of his misery by Chilean manager Marcelo Bielsa. The Leeds manager is apparently eying a move for the Real Madrid shotstopper and according to Sky Sports, the Championship are in talks to bring the goalkeeper to England.

Meanwhile, the goalkeeper problem for Madrid is Andriy Lunin. He wasn’t supposed to be a headache as he was expected to be a starting number 1 for Leganes, where he is on loan currently.

However, things haven’t gone according to plan as he has played just two league matches. Marca, meanwhile, report that Huesca want to bring the shotstopper on loan for the rest of the season.

#1 Kane and Vinicius

Harry Kane has been on the radar of the Galacticos for a long time now. Ever since he rose to stardom, the Blancos’ name has been consistently put on the same sentence as him.

And now, with Cristiano Ronaldo still not replaced, there is a chance that the deal to bring the Englishman could actually be worked upon. However, the Merengues have been hit with a hurdle in the very first stage itself as AS report that the Lilywhites have slapped a staggering €350 million price tag on the forward.

Meanwhile, Vinicius Junior has been one of the very few good things about Madrid this season. The Brazilian has impressed whenever he has been given the chance but even then, Don Balon believe that Florentino Perez could sell him if it means that he could get Kylian Mbappe or Neymar in return.
