Real Madrid Transfer news: Wantaway midfielder verbally agreed terms with Real Madrid, according to reports

Real Madrid Unveil New Manager Zinedine Zidane
An agreement has reportedly been in place with the midfielder

What's the story?

According to Spanish media outlet, AS via Canal+ France, Real Madrid have already reached an agreement with Paris Saint Germain's wantaway midfielder, Adrien Rabiot, who will be a free agent in the summer transfer window.

After the signing of Rodrygo and Militao, Rabiot will be Los Blancos' third signing for the new season and the deal could be announced soon.

In case you didn't know..

Since his arrival at the French Capital in 2010, Rabiot has made over 200 appearances for the Ligue 1 giants, winning five league titles among numerous other honors with the club.

Rabiot is currently benched indefinitely at PSG since last December as the 24-year-old refused to renew his contract with the Ligue 1 giants. His contract expires at the end of the current campaign and was previously linked with a move to Barcelona.

The French midfielder also received huge criticism as he was seen partying after the defeat PSG suffered at the hands of Manchester United in the Champions League recently.

The heart of the matter

It is an open secret that Real Madrid are planning to strengthen their squad with some much-needed reinforcements under new boss Zinedine Zidane. Los Blancos have suffered an abysmal season considering their sky-high standards, and Zidane is desperate to make some changes.

According to the report, Zidane is a fan of the French midfielder and believes Rabiot to be the ideal fit for Los Blancos. Real Madrid were keeping tabs on Rabiot for months and was on their radar last summer to replace Kovacic.

Moreover, the Barcelona target would join Los Blancos as personal terms have been agreed.

Rumor rating: 6/10

It is extremely likely that Real Madrid will bring reinforcements and Rabiot will be a cheaper option for them. There is no doubt that bringing a player of Rabiot's caliber will increase the depth of the squad.

What's next?

Los Blancos have little to play for this season. Zinedine Zidane's men will host Eibar next in the LaLiga.
