Eden Hazard is in fine form for Chelsea

Real Madrid are reportedly gearing up to land Belgian superstar Eden Hazard for a world-record transfer fee, as they aim to bolster their squad for the next season. The club have made the Chelsea midfielder their number one priority in the summer of 2017.

The Chelsea midfielder has enjoyed a phenomenal season so far under new Italian manager Antonio Conte. The superstar’s individual performances have propelled the South West London outfit to the top of the league. With 3 points in hand over their nearest challengers, their season looks promising. The player has seen a brilliant turn-around in form compared to last year, which has brought about a significant increase in his market price once again.

Real Madrid have been preparing for a big name signing for quite a while now, according to sources. Florentino Perez knows that a lot of money will be involved and is ready to test Chelsea’s patience. Sources tell us that Florentino Perez is even ready to offer James Rodriguez and a lot of money in exchange for the Belgian’s signature. They are ready to pull out all the stops in hope that they can at least tempt the midfielder to think about the offer.

Zinedine Zidane could be a big factor in luring Hazard to Real Madrid

Real Madrid sit comfortably on top of the La Liga table, with a 4 point lead over Barcelona. The club recently drew with Barcelona in El Clasico, and are confident going into this title race.

Eden Hazard, speaking to Belgian website Sudinfo.be in February, revealed his admiration for Real Madrid legend and manager, Zinedine Zidane. “It's always nice to hear that a player that I admired during my childhood talks about me. I always liked Zidane. Now I know the player by heart but don't know the coach at all, even if he's started very well at the Bernabeu. I'm also still under contract at Chelsea and I feel very good there.”

When asked if he would like to play under the Frenchman, the winger couldn’t stop agreeing. “Yes of course. When I was little, I watched him on television and the internet for hours. I talked Zidane and I ate Zidane. But, and I repeat it, I feel very good at Chelsea so it's not news.”

When Zidane was questioned over Hazard, the coach returned the favor. "After Messi and Ronaldo, Hazard is my favourite player. It is spectacular to see him play. Do I see him going to Real Madrid? I love the player, that's all I will say."
