What's the story?

According to AS, Isco will be compelled to ask for a move away from Real Madrid if Santiago Solari stays as the manager after this season. The report claims that the Spain international wishes to stay put at the Santiago Bernabeu, but his peripheral role under the Argentinian coach could force him to leave Los Blancos.

In case you didn't know...

Isco is going to become a father for the second time and with his family settled in Madrid, the ex-Malaga ace isn't too keen to depart the Spanish capital. Nevertheless, his situation is being monitored by a number of high-profile clubs, including the likes of Manchester City, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan.

The heart of the matter...

There's no denying that Isco is going through a rough patch at Real Madrid having fallen down the pecking order under Solari this season. Since the Argentine's takeover, the 26-year-old has only been given around 500 minutes of first-team action.

The Spanish outlet reports that Manchester City are the favourites to secure the Spaniard's services, with Pep Guardiola holding a long-term interest in Isco. Apparently, the Citizens are willing to pay €86 million, though Real Madrid are reluctant to offload him for anything less than €100 million. Of course, the Spanish giants are aware that Isco's sale could be a key source of funds for their impending overhaul.

Rumour rating: 6/10

Considering the present situation at Real Madrid, the report is unsurprising. Besides, AS is a decent source when it comes to Spanish transfer news.

What's next?

Real Madrid haven't done much business in the ongoing winter transfer window, which closes on 1 February. Therefore, it can be predicted that Perez will be girding up his loins for a major overhaul in the close season.
